For a few months now over at DDRManiax a group of us have been working on a new pack of songs that is 100% legal and free. I just joined a few weeks ago, but since a lot has happened. We had a good majority of the songs we wanted (most of which weren't too good), but we had a sort of falling out. The project has started up again and we're lacking music.
So what we need is either;
You're own original music, which is NOT a remix of any song (other than one of your own). We are hoping to keep this open source btw. If you're not willing to put your music under a license we're not interested.
or
Links to websites of artists with quality music... not pros, more along the lines of people on soundclick or internet dj.
We also need people to help out with art for the songs, but that comes later in the project.
If you have anything good just pm me, or you can talk to me on AIM... I'm usually on.
Mods if you have a problem with this just delete it and let me know; I didn't see a problem with it though.
The thread at DDR Maniax is here.
Thanks for any help you can offer. |

So my original music must be licensed to enter? Wouldn't a license make it difficult for you? Explain.
Also, how will this affect rights to songs if submitted?
Is this only for songs, or are stepcharts suggested?
Am I asking questions that would be answered by the 34-page DDRManiaX thread?
What is the limit for how bad can my music be before you ban me from associating with you? _________________

1- You need to be able to license the music so that we can use it and distibute it legally without any risk. We would e-mail you the terms and you would e-mail us back with a Yes this works for me so we have a record.
2- The songs would be under the terms of the license which we have not yet decided upon. We would like to keep this open source (your music would pretty much be freely up for grabs for anyone to do anything with), but that might change as many artists don't want their music to be subjected to this (though really doing this for one or two songs is probably good for you).
3- We pretty much have stepcharts covered. We have plenty of people to help with the muber of songs we have now, but if you submit one of your songs with original stepcharts (not on bemanistyle or in an existing pack) than we would look at the charts. If you would like to help out with stepping songs I would say visit the DDR Maniax site. You would really need to be dedicated though.
And music should be quality, not crap. You can submit anything and we'll review it, but don't be offended if we reject it. |

Coolness.
I'll see about what I can submit.
I asked those questions because I am planning on submitted to the Konami song contest.
I don't think my music is crap, but some of it is unconventional. _________________

Almost all the songs on my Myspace are up for grabs. Contact me if you need higher quality or louder recordings, or if you're interested in any more of my work. I have more than just those four at my Soundclick.
