No one's going to fly from Boston to Providence. laugh.gif

m335h73r's tip, not mine E10.gif I was responsible for 1-6, he did (I think) 7-12 and ichigome did 13-17.

I can just Amtrak my butt over there. I assume there's public transportation there I can use, and chances are I'll end up rooming with some people for three to four nights.

Yay. disturb.gif

you know what they say about assumptions. ripta's not bad but it's not great either. if you are catching a train into providence you won't have too many opportunities to get to woonsocket via bus iirc.

also, Anthony glad you mentioned about the location change. i was going to ask about this in my earlier post but figured i'd just wait until there was info. i couldn't imagine you trying to hold this AT tga.

It's a Stepmania machine. E1.gif They can add or remove songs by request. (And they do often!)

I was already 100% certain that I was going to attend back when it was just Mr. T, Hiro, and everyone. E4.gif This event is going to be unbelieveable! If you can make the trip at all, do it! Get some friends together, carpool, maybe take a train if you're afraid of flying, anything!

A freestyle contest would be so sweet to just watch. I haven't been to TGA for like a year! Perfect timing!

Honestly, RIPTA (the bus service) is pretty good for public transportation for the most part...but not really for Woonsocket, and that's what I'm using to get there...whereever the new 'there' is.

Hi there, little FYI that I probably won't be able to attend but oh well. Here is a quick listing of hotels in the area that MIGHT help:

1. Woonsocket Motor Inn
333 Clinton St, Woonsocket, RI (0.25 miles away)
401-762-1224

I was quote between $72 - $82 for a room for four people (2 Queen beds) and about a few bucks less for a room for two. I spoke with a guy over there and he was just rude. So keep that in mind.

2. Holiday Inn Express Providence
194 Fortin Dr, Woonsocket, RI (1.61 miles away)
401-769-5000

I was quoted $124.95 for a room for eithe four or two. They said you CAN make a reservation for July at this time. In fact, they alerady have 2 rooms booked for July.

3. Hiltop Inn
797 Eddie Dowling Hwy, North Smithfield, RI (2.79 miles away)
401-762-9631

I was quoted $70 for a room for four (2 Queen Beds) and $50 for a room for two (1 Queen) and both prices have tax included. They said to reserve a room for July, the earliest you can reserve is a month.

4. Travellers Motel
1188 Eddie Dowling Hwy, North Smithfield, RI (3.51 miles away)
401-765-3145

I was quoted $70 for a room for four (2 Queen Beds) and $60 for two (1 Queen) and both prices have tax inlcuded. They said the earliest you can reserve is a week.

5. Courtyard-Providence Lincoln
636 George Washington Hwy, Lincoln, RI (5.18 miles away)
401-333-3400

They quoted me a room for four at $159 (2 Queen Beds) and tax NOT included. You can reserve a room right now if you like.

Those are just a few of the places, I found a good list at this link from MapQuest.:

Mapquest link

And the name of the public transportation is RIPTA. TO find schedules to whichever place you want, check out http://www.ripta.com/.

Cab services are two that I found.

1. Laurel Sweeney Cabs
623 Hartford Ave, Providence, RI (13.05 miles away)
401-521-4200

Cool and helpful.

2. ABC Taxi Cabs
35 Shaw Ave, Cranston, RI (17.04 miles away)
401-447-6767

Rude. Guy didn't even announce the company, just said "hello?" in a rude manner.

They have a statewide pricing. $2.00 on pick up and $2.50 a mile.

I hope this helps you guys out. I won't be able to go but I figured I could help some people out and help plan this. Take care and have fun for me! =)

THIS SHOULDN'T BE SO DIFFICULT

1) WHEN SENDING ME SONGS, YOU GENERALLY HAVE TO SEND THE FILE. YouSendIt, attachment, whatever. I'm not going to pirate the song for you.

2) PLEASE send the yousendit link in the same email. Some guy was actually so stupid to have the YouSendIt email me one of those "Send to a friend!" links, so that I had to cycle through my old emails to find it.

That's because the site is down until the owner comes back from Japan. It'll be back up, don't worry.

There will be MUCH media coverage of this. If the hotel rooms have internet, we'll be sure to post each ay's outcome by the end of the night on it's dedicated forum.
