Actually, I don't really have anything to say...

Sweet 3rd post.
Personally I can think I speak for a good majority of us that the only reason we know of Slake is because most of us don't like the music made by Slake...thats what I have seen on these forums, not going to post a direct link to it but I know that its on here somewhere. |

Hopefully this situation will be acceptable for a temporary appearance
I can't wait for this thing. I've actually, with the help of ichigomew and m335h73r made an airline guide, so I will post it here:
I suggest that if anyone is going to buy tickets, they buy them REALLY SOON. I can get a roundtrip ticket on Continental for about $280 and that's only going to go higher. If you wait until a month before, it could double or even triple what it is now. I remember an instance when I bought tickets for Washington (which is about similar distance from my city as Providence) and I ended up having to pay $555 instead of somewhere around $380 because I waited a week.
Also, if you don't particularly care about what Airline you fly on, I recommend Continental. Not only because they have good service compared to stuff like AA but because they have possibly the funniest intro video ever - the CEO who says every instance of the letter "s" as "sh". While that may be a little harsh for me to find immense humor in his lack of speech skills, I think it's justified because of the fact that Continental is still my airline of choice thus still getting my money, so there.
If you have never flown before, here's 17 airline basics.
1. ALWAYS have copies of your ID with you. If you don't have a driver's license or permit, bring a copy of your birth certificate. If you are flying alone this will be VERY important.
2. ALWAYS have copies of your itinerary with you if you get an e-ticket. This is just a no-brainer but I figured it's noteworthy anyway.
3. GET A LIGHT COLORED BAG. Trust me on this one. Something that's BRIGHT orange or yellow, or something that looks very distinct. It will save you a multitude of stress because baggage check takes *forever*.
4. BRING THINGS TO DO ON THE PLANE. No, 2 hours of your iPod life isn't enough, because after the 4th or so hour, you WILL become visually bored of clouds. Bring really really entertaining belongings. Otherwise, you'll feel like you're in a waiting room for 4 hours, and trust me, SkyMall catelog isn't the pinnacle of entertainment.
5. Get a meal to carry on the flight. Usually, Continental offers in-flight meals HOWEVER I don't know if this pertains to certain times of the day.
6. If you can, GET A SEAT CLOSE TO THE ENTRANCE. While I know the back may seem roomy, people take several eternities to get their luggage and get out of the plane; this will save a lot of frustration if you opt for a closer seat.
7. Make sure to bring all carryable fragile items with on board, and make sure to make as much of those 2 carryons(+purse) if possible. Your tan khakis can survive a disgruntled baggage handler's wrath; your electronics will not.
8. ALWAYS arrive at least an hour (two if travelling from Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Colorado Springs, Miami, three from Los Angeles) to make sure you'll catch your flight even if you get stuck with a long ticket line/security check.
9. If connecting to another flight, make sure you know which terminal it shall be in, and also make sure you can run your buttocks to the other end of the airport if need be.
10. Dress appropriately because no matter what you may think, the security will look at you funny if you wear that stupid plaid jacket with the poopy of patches and pyramid spikes on it.
11. If taking a cab after leaving the airport, make sure you already know the basic directions and (usually set) fare to the dwelling you will be at. Cabbies love cheating the oblivious tourist out of the extra $50 he/she didn't have.
12. If your condition suits it, hide your valuables from Housekeeping. That engagement ring your fiancee gave you will be gone come 12:30pm if left on the bedside table in your room.
13. Bring an extra shirt, pants, or whatever it is that constitutes a second outfit for you, even if it's just an extra pair of underwear, in your carry-on just in case your luggage gets lost.
14. Write out a luggage tag BEFORE you go to the airport and make sure it's perfectly legible. Luggage places, The Container Store, and various homemaking stores have some totally awesome, bright, and sturdy luggage tags that will make finding your bag in the luggage carousel MUCH easier, especially if you can't find a flashy bag.
15. Wear comfortable shoes that are easy to put on and take off to the airport, because you will likely be taking them off when you go through security.
16. Try to bring something to do on the plane that doesn't involve a screen, like a crossword puzzle, sudoku, cards, etc. Some people get headaches even more easily on an airplane and can't play a Game Boy for too long without wanting to throw up.
17. If there's something that you would hate to lose, and you have ANY doubts about needing it on the trip, just leave it at home. It would be horrible to hear about anyone losing their favorite _____ at this event. Likewise, if you have important things, putting your name and/or screenname or whatever on them is probably a good idea too. For example, you might want to write your name on the tag of your coat or something that you think everyone else will have too, like a controller. |

Maybe it is there and I'm just not seeing it, but shouldn't the front page of this website be telling people where the event is taking place?
I know where it is, but the info shouldn't be buried in the "Pricing" tab. |

If you dig around a little you should be able to find a link to Tokyo Game Action, an arcade in Rhode Island.
If I do end up going, I'm really not going there to see Slake >>; |

Yes, I know... my point was, from a marketing perspective, having to "dig around" to find the location shouldn't be necessary. |

1. DDR Forever was made by TGA. dieKatze88 made the theme, noteskins and announcer for us.
2. You can submit a song that you want to freestyleto durring the freestyle tourney. So for example, if you want to freestyle to your favorite freezepop song just make a simfile for it, submit it to us, and you can play it on the machine durring the freestyle event. |

I need to add a location link on the BemaniFest site. Address is:
257 Main St
Woonsocket, RI 02895
But the location will be changing before the event (it will still be in Woonsocket) |

sherl0k, I edited your post to add the month and state so people would have a general idea from reading the news headline.
Also, read the Mod forum. I made a thread about how to headline this yesterday. We were gonna stick it in New England, but I guess there's no point in changing how you did it. We'll just leave Paul's thread for the New Englanders now.
For everyone else, the nearest airport is in Providence, RI, but it's not the biggest airport. It's about 15 minutes away. Boston is about an hour away, but it's a much bigger airport, so if you're coming from far away, that might be worth checking into as well.

No one's going to fly from Boston to Providence. _________________

Wish I could go, but I KNOW I can't...
...but this "DDR Forever" sounds VERY interesting. It sounds almost like something out of 10KCommotion. _________________

He will be making an appearance at Bemani Fest 2006, an enormous international gathering for fans of Bemani games in July at TGA in Rhode Island. Also notable is the DDR Forever freestyle tournament -- ever wanted to freestyle, but weren't quite feeling the music? With the help of the custom "DDR Forever" cabinet, TGA, and Arch0wl, you can submit any song and receive a template for your own freestyle routine! |
Very cool Man That's what is exciting DDR 4Ever |
