By the way, I'm a guy that considers myself pretty good at the dance games (check scores somewhere, this name on ddrecall and my name on groovestats is zzyzx.strawberrydog), BUT I genuinely think that there's a decent chance I could lose to amber in a tournament match.
There's been countless times she's beaten me on some random set in the arcade, with me trying my best. The only reason "girls aren't as good as guys" is because there aren't a lot of them, period. I'm sure if as many girls played, there'd be just as many upper tier female players as male. E1.gif

I know your region is filled with girls who are on par with guys, Amber, but I just can't say the same for mine (that is including myself), and I know many a girl who has been scared away from seriously PAing because of some nasty or patronizing thing someone has said to her.

Actually that's not true at all anymore. haha. there used to be a good handful of fantastic girl ddr players around here, but they've all gotten bored of the game and moved on to different things. So i've been heading it on my own in washington. 8)

Let me just say flat out that I admire you as a player, Amber..

That's really really flattering. Thank you so much--please feel free to IM me sometime (AIM - nuggetynugg) to chat about dancing games if you want some silly girl bonding to take place. i'd quite enjoy it! E13.gif

I really don't have anything else to contribute to this thread so i'm going to go about my merry business. ultimately, it's all about playing for the love of the game.

If anything, I usually overestimate girl DDR players.

At the very least I expected Flotastic to be a challenge in that Sacramento tournament, but I was greatly disappointed.

Hi Amber.

I'm not a girl, but the person who got me interested in DDR is, and she knows several other girls who play the game.

I'm not sexist, just "acts stupid and sucks"ist. erm.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif blink.gif Okay, you can stop reacting to the odd term I just used.

Most of the people I know who play DDR are girls...including me.

And as strange as it may seem, I'm reeeeally overweight, but I can still kick the arse of all my friends and the other guys who show up at the arcade. It's sorta like, "Ha ha, look what the fat chick can do E4.gif"

Yeah I'm not exactly skinny, and the other chick that plays at the same arcade as I do isn't skinny either, and we're pretty good.
There is this one girl, she weighs about... Hm..
100 pounds?
5 foot 7.
She's skinny, and she's bad.
She plays the same songs over and over, and never got above an 85.
Oh, and my favorite part is how she plays Bend Your Mind (hard) in a miniskirt and brings attention to herself.
OMG I CAN'T DO THIS, I'M IN A SKIRT.
Yet she picks the song.
Ugghhhghghghghghghghhhhh.
This isn't the "Things you hate" thread, sorry.
I'll shut up now. riiight.gif

Don't wear a skirt if you plan on playing a dancing game. Even if you're playing easy songs and you don't go back to the center after stepping like a friend of a friend of mine, at least wear something that goes below the knee. I should ask, was her skirt below the knee?

I bet women can knit better than men.
And jumprope.
Hopscotch?
Applying make-up.
Matching their outfits.
That's only FIVE things women can do better than men can. ;p

And no, this girl is a slut.
Everyone calls her the "LAN-whore".
She's proud of it too.
Her buttocks was almost hanging out of her skirt.

i believe that to be completely untrue about the whole"don't wear mini-skirts" thing i've passed the legend of maxx in bare feet and wearing a mini skirt and no skin up there (if you know what i mean) was shown!!!!
i think that alot of males really do underestimate a girls potential though. i came across a few guys in timezone in wellington that sniggered at me coz i choose a 9 footer!!! i know all the decent players in wellington and theres only one i can't beat( he lives in aucks now!!! i know heaps of girls in wellington that play but alot of them choose to just play on standard!!!! but alot of it is because they don't wana get all hot and sticky..........
but heres one question who was the first girl in new zealand to pass the legend of maxx????????????????????????????

Whoa, you got stuck in Pottstown!?
Damn Cody and living really far away from you!
Oh man, where are our pictures?
Ahahaha, you can post the one of me tearing it up, and looking mentally retarded.

And what I said was a joke too, but it also proved a point.
If it wasn't a joke, I'd be flipping out on you. ;D
