one more bump. I'm thinking I'm going to order it tomorrow, I'm hoping that those who have had it for awhile can give me one more update as to how it's playing/holding up.

If I were to put squares of light grain grip tape on the four corner squares, do you think that would disrupt the movment of my feet? I'm certain it will help me find the arrows, and I'll almost never be playing barefoot.

Thanks for the help.

Mine is doing great. At first I could not do hands but now, its perfect. I have no problems. I barly have to tap to make in sence. And with the grip tape, I say no to that. You will notice that the arrows feel softer than the courners and the center. I don't think you will need it

I agree with ThePandemonium. By the way: if you get version 2 of the pad, there won't be any square or triangle buttons.

Okay, so FedEx is telling me that it will arrive tomorrow. I plan on dancing on it as much as possible tomorrow night. If anyone still cares about this pad (considering how often it manages to drift off the front page, I'm not sure anyone does), then I'll do my best to write a decent length first impressions review.

So just let me know if you want me to, otherwise I'm done on this topic and I'll let it drift back into the depths of the board.

I would like a review from you, I want to see what others have to say about it. I bet others would also want to see what you have to say too.

i second that. i still haven't purchased a metal dance pad only because school is keeping me busy, and because my konami pad still hasn't crapped out despite the fact i've been trying to transition into heavy mode. i've heard enuff positive reviews about this pad to make me want to get one as well, but a few more reviews couldn't hurt. i'm beginning to think that the BNSUSA fusion metal dance pads are going to be considered one of those underrated pads that are low in price and high in quality thanks to the one piece design. if i remember correctly i'm pretty sure i bumped this thread before just to see more input on it, so i'm definitely interested in this pad.

This looks like a decent metal pad. The only thing bad about it might be the sensitivity, which shouldn't be an issue with me since I'm 200 lbs.

I still haven't heard about one of these breaking. How about ghosting? Is there anyone that owns one of these that has any ghosting issues?

Ok, there is one problem that I have noticed but really isn't bad. Well during song selection, if you it the arrow wrong, it will set off the opposite side. This only happens once in a while and never happened during a song. No big deal. Its a minor problem that cannot decide if you should or shouldn't get the pad. It is a very good pad. I like it better than the Afterburner since it was good... for a day.

FYI that probably won't matter. I weigh 200 lbs and am 6'2". My pad is uselessly craptacular.

In fact, the reason I haven't posted on this site is because wasting over 200 bucks on this piece of crap made me quit DDR. My shiny waste of cash is sitting against a wall where it was months ago, and when I want to play I go to the arcade. I wish VERY MUCH that I just spent the 250 dollars on softpads, replacing them as they died.

At least then I would get some use out of that money instead of flushing it down a mirror-surfaced toilet.

Unless you are a flat footed ***STOMPER*** I can't discourage you from this pad strongly enough. It is awful. Worst use of metal since the atomic bomb was forged.

well have you used it long enough? the main thing from reading other people's reviews that i was understanding was that this pad requires dancing into (aka, it gets better the more you use it). i'd imagine that those months you've left the thing standing could've at least been used to make the pad more sensitive. other than the money you've spent on it, what have you got to lose now? i mean, you have the pad so you might as well try to see if you can make it work better for you. this pad is probably a helluva lot better than having to deal with individual arrow issues on a CF...and it's not like the CF doesn't have any flaws in it either. plus the BNSUSA fusion series pads seems to be one of the few decent mid-range priced pads that is ALSO compatible with the xbox, compared to the PS2-only CF...

I got this pad on Friday 2/17. So far my experience has been mixed. This pad definitely has to be danced into. As others have said it gets better with use. I'm finally getting close to being able to get the same scores I could get with my soft pad.

I find I still have a hard time hitting the arrows on some songs. I didn't think I would have a problem with that since the only other pad I've used was the one bundled with extreme 2. Half of the time when a step doesn't register it's because my foot was slightly off. You don't have to hit it exact, but it does seem to have a smaller sweet spot than my old pad.

Over all I'm pretty happy so far. I just hope that it continues to improve. Someone mentioned that all he had to do was brush his foot over the button to make it register. If it gets to that point, then all the hard work will be worth it.

If I end up buying this, I'll bribe the 400 pound lady down the road with a bucket of fried chicken to stomp on it for me. No "dancing in" required.

I'm glad you posted here. It's nice to see a negative comment that way I know the bad with the good. Do you know which version the pad is? Is it a version 2, which is supposedly more sensitve?

Well, I recently returned my V1 for a V2, so that was a good change. Currently, I have maybe 3-4 hours of gameplay into it, and it is still horrible, but I am definitely noticing improvement. I even got a 70 combo...I hope eventually it will become bearable, I definietly have hope and am glad to see that at least some form of progress is being made, hope it pans out. I'll post later after I have some more gameplay into it.

Anyone know where I can get this metal pad at besides Buynshop?

I dont trust them anymore. Back in 2001, I bought it from them. They said it will come with pc adpater. Not only that, I use the pad about 2weeks and it died. screws were missing. BTW this another pad.

Thats weird... Really weird. I found Buynshop to be very trustworthy. I got a PC and Xbox adapter and I didn't even know I was getting one. I never used it once... Except for the time where we played GTA:SA on the Xbox with a PS2 comtroller but... I never use it. Just sits there.

Does anyone have any recent reviews for this pad or for how their pad is doing? Sensitivity and stuff? I'm interested in this pad, but I'm worried about sensitivity because I weigh under 100 lbs. I've heard of people lighter than myself using this, but I'm looking for more input? Think I'd be able to break it in?

My decision's between this and a TX-4000 (I have a pretty low budget). E10.gif

I'm trying to decide between these 2 pads right now and I'm leaning toward the Tx-4000 because it's actually fixable due to the arrows being removable.

And you'll certainly have to fix it.
The advantage of the BNS pad is that it's much more durable and overall more playable than the TX.

well i guess the way to say it is that if you really need a working low-budget pad that works from the get-go, get the tx4000...but you'll also need to commit yourself to having to fix sensor issues if you do get it.

if you want the fusion metal pad you'll need to commit to using the pad every single day in order to make it more sensitive, but in the end it'll be more durable...and i guess for some people it's hard to do with the busy schedule most people have...but hey, everything has it's flaws

i still hate to have to deal with arrow sensor issues, and also from the arrows themselves breaking. and overall there have only been a few negative comments about this pad regarding said issues, so i'd still put my hopes on this BNSUSA pad.
