act like you all never done it before.
What you guys do on hard songs, you got to stomp!(Bars dont count damn it).

1. Well, if you don't mind risking damaging the pad and making it harder for people to do well on songs..
2. Actually, IF I do stomp at all, usually it is never as hard as I described seeing yesterday... but usually I don't stomp... and yes, I distinguish between a hard step and flat out stomping.

Logical fallacy. No stomping != only playing beginner/light, you can play standard/challenge/heavy without stomping... so long as the pad you play on is in good condition.

Well, whether we are paying for it or not is not the issue with stomping... when playing, having sensors in good condition is vital to doing well, especially on the heavy mode songs.

Anyway, I hate it when people sneezed when They playing ddr and sneeze all over the screen and touch the bar....Thats sick and ... Gross...
I don't care if people talk on their cell phone, because when it's not my turn to play, I go play something else.
But if I'm playing by myself and people gets on the other pad and starts to talk on their cell phones, now that pisses me off.
The point is I WANT TO HEAR MUSIC AND NOT PEOPLE TALKING ON THE CELL PHONE.... I should ask the manager to turn up the volume up loud next time lol...
Anyway..... i bet everyone in this thread stomps before. just bc people stomp doesnt mean anything. sure the machine will break but your not the one paying for it.(for the machine not the 1.00 or 75 cent you put in the machine).

That is not at all helpful in the many many places where the people don't give a crap in maintaining the DDR machines except for slapping a big 'ol "OUT OF ORDER" sign on it... leaving it out of order for lengthy periods of time. |

I've seen a lot more stomping on easy songs than harder ones. I think one of the reasons is that stomping hinders your performance in general. It takes more energy and it can screw up your timing because you're training yourself to make hard strikes at the pad instead of fluid motions. To be clear, I don't consider playing flat footed to be bad form. I just think when people play flat footed and stomp it's because they are relying more on reflex than planning, which is a bad thing if your reflexes never improve because you never learn how to play without stomping.
But that doesn't really bug me all the much. The main things that bother me are:
1. People, kids or otherwise, jumping on the pad while I'm playing
2. Rudeness in general
3.Taking the money from the coinline and then having the nerve to ask If I would pay for a game for them. wtf
Also, just a random question. Has anyone ever had a song freeze on them? I've had this wierd thing happen a few times now where the arrows stop scrolling and the song keeps going, and then about 30 seconds later the steps start going really fast to catch up to the music. I think its funny but it cost me my extra stage once, which was somewhat annoying. |

Whoa, no way.
I've never seen a screen freeze.
There's one that would shake and be stupid because it was so old, but never freeze. |

Complete strangers who ask if they can play Versus with you and then expect you to pay for their game as well as your own.
Um, no. We are not friends. We haven't even had... an actual conversation. I am not lending you money. _________________

Lol, once a girl I'd never seen in my life kindly offered to have me buy her a game of DDR. I said no. She seemed angry. |

Yeah, happens a few times on the extreme at our arcade. Its wierd to, as it seems that the side my friend is on doesnt fail and continues where the song would be on the arrows, while my side ALWAYS speeds up the arrows to catch up to where its actually at. _________________

When people want to shadow you while you play. I'm not to fond of people doing that and it annoys the hell out of me.
When specators clap off beat to screw you up annoys the hell out of me.
Little kids walk in your path while your playing is frustrating. _________________

Whoa dude, that's friggin' weird.
And the people clapping offbeat doesn't bother me at all.
When I play, I basically zone out.
I stare at the background and my feet just move.
It would only bother me if the machine was SO LOW I could barely hear it.
I play by basically listening to the music, and hearing the stomping in my head where the arrows would be before I hit them.
That's a benefit when you're drunk too.
I had no idea what I was doing, and I was mentally GONE for 30 seconds and I looked up and at my score.. I got a 94.xx on Disconnected Hyper Expert.
I don't think I can even pass that sober. |

Little kids annoy me too. But if they decide that it would be fun to put their hands on the censors while I'm playing, I won't notice most likley. Then they'd learn to be careful with their hands. |

Don't you feel like an idiot, stomping has NOTHING to do with damaging the machine. I used to work for an arcade and stomping had nothing to do with the shitty pads. Playing for hours and hours the sensors will eventually die and have to be replaced and replacing them does take a while to get them from the vendor. This means that players have to step harder(hence stomping) for the arrow to respond. Please shut up because you know nothing of what you are talking about. _________________

If you stop alot, it won't break right away. But it will break faster. People need to learn not to abuse the machine. The arcade owner pays money for the machine, and expects people to use it correctly. By abusing the machine, your disrespecting the arcade owner. Your also telling him that you don't give a poopy about whats his, and that you don't care if it breaks. Well what if you were playing PSP or something, and someone walked up and grabbed it and threw it on the ground. Then what if he said he didn't give a poopy cause its "not his problem", and walked away? Thats basicly what people do by abusing the machine. |

Well, I haven't had this happen, but today I had something much more annoying happen.
I was doing TSUGARU heavy, and these two people came and were laughing hysterically, obnoxiusly loud too, then while laughing they started screwing around on the pad next to me until the last few seconds of the song... I still B'd it though. I was tempted to yell something a long the lines of "I don't mind people stepping on the pad next to me if it is an honest attempt to try and learn the steps (which has happened to me before), but try pulling that annoying stunt again while I'm playing and I wil not hesitate to trip you!" although I didn't, and now I am thinking it was good of me controling myself. |

Good. You understand the ananomy. I guess you could imagine how arcade owners feel
Besides, if they have to pay to repair/replace the machines TOO often, they might need to close the arcade. |
