Well I think there are several ways to deal with this problem.

- you could tell them that they should find somthing good to do instead of watching fake reality shows

- ask them to come up and try see how easy it is

- tell them they havent done anything better with their lives

-the flipper

ask them why they're bothering you.

but all in all hasnt happend to me people dont really know i play ddr nobady asks me

This guy came up nex to me on 2nd player pad. He was mocking me just because I was stomping. when it was his turn to play, I did the same thing he did to me. He was about to punch me til his friend told him to stop being immature and keep playing.

I know this doesn't apply to all of you but part of the reason I think ddr players get made fun of is because almost none of you stand up for yourselves. When ever I read about someone complaining about being harassed, they always finish the post with how they got realy annoid, when I am expecting the post to end with a comment about how they kicked the crap out of the person who was making fun of them. Mabye it's just me and my temper

I ignore him but he trying to harrased me again the next day by making funny faces while i was up playing ddr while he was playing ITG on the other side in front of me at the same time.

People don't make fun of me when I'm playing it, mostly they just stop and stare if they're drunk, or kinda ignore me.
Unless they know me and they've never seen me play before so they get all "omfg"

To put it simply, even though people have probably said this already, they probably tried DDR on a fateful that could change there life and thet'd become a DDR freak forever, but they were the odd case where thet hated DDR and now they really suck at it. So in order t find a way to forget that, they just think it's stupid. I probably would have laughed at the guy who said PIU was DDR, but that might have made me look kinda weird and get laughed at some more. Or maybe they just don't like the happier themed music of the newer DDR music, maybe someone should literally hit them with an IIDX machine

It's weird, because I could accept the whole dancing thing if they were actually heckling while we were playing. There's this small group of girls that hang out at the arcade I occasionally frequent. They don't do anything. They just talk with some of the people there. Anyway, they won't really do anything while you're playing. It's when you start talking with whoever is with/watching/playing against you, and they just insert themselves into your conversation (from across the arcade), mimic what you say, and then go on with whatever they were talking about. See, if they were actually trying to piss me off while playing, then it would be fine (being able to deal with it). But just the fact that they could do something like that to anyone anywhere really makes me question their motives as to why they huddle around somewhere where they obviously don't really want to be. And as I said in my thread (I admit I had forgotten about this thread, too), they only seem to bug the people on the DDR machine. But it's not when we're dancing (when we would look like fools), it's when we're talking (which makes them look like fools, which makes me question their intelligence and social awareness).

this might happen because:
-they think it's dumb
-they act cocky
-they think they're to cool for that(if an geeky girl/guy see a hot guy/girl playing and the girl think shes to cool for that,then she's dumb cause shes acting too cool for something and someone playing that is cooler than her.but if it was a hot guy/girl see a geeky guy/girl then they would be hating on you and the game.I've seen this alot of times, sometimes on people, mostly skinny people and Asians, But alot of times ,it's because of their appearnce.

I know last year I went to a new school and started talking about DDR and they said it was stupid, they were soo gay some girls were like " you dance like omg!" but this year I started a little "DDR club" with my "popular" friend and some other kids who play DDR and this weekend we get to go to a real cool place to kill some girls who think their better than us while everyone watches us kill them.

A lot of my friends who have tried ddr aren't good on it, and if they werent, then most other people are not either, but when they see somebody who is good, they usually associate us by "wasting our time" (which is totally not true) and to them, people who use their time doing any kind of alternative sport, or anything different from them, is considered lame. :)

People hate us because they can't stand someone being better then them at something. Thats why its fun to challenge them, own them, and laugh them out of the arcade.
