Just a warning, but I got The Red Octane Universal Adapater and it DID NOT work with the CF. Worked for everything else fine but not my Cobalt Flux And I tried everything to make it work, but nothing, NOTHING worked. Maybe I got a defective one but I would look into another adapter before you get this one. |

I just impulse bought one of these bad boys. 407 dollars I dropped. I really hope they do a good job with it. My RedOctane Ignition 3.0 Pad is SOOOOO faulty. I just want something that will last forever. Oh man, I hope I did the right thing. I took me 4 days of work to earn the money to pay for this dang thing. |

Please keep us posted. Most people have had great success with this adapter, CF, and PC setups. |

It is good to know it is working for other people, but I have seen some people with the same problem as me. For the people that it did work for, did it just work automatically or did you have to do some things first? When I plug the Cobalt Flux into the adapter, it acts as if it isn't plugged in at all. Any advice? I haven't returned the adapter yet. |

i am thinking about getting a flux soon but the thing is i would like the arcade-style mod kit for the arrows. I want to have a pad very close to the arcade feel, and these look nice. But i have a question. Does anyone have arcade-mod arrows on there cobalt flux? I kinda wanna know what it lloks like on the pad? Also, are they easy to put on? I'm not exactly the handiest person in the world...so thats a pretty big concern i have. Also, just how good are they? I like the cobalt flux quite a bit normally, but i would like to be able to see where i am on the pad while i play. And it's kinda hard to feel where you are on the cobalt flux. _________________

If you order an arcade mod and the cf they'll install it for you. You shouldn't have any difficulty feeling where you are either |

I've heard several people say this, and oddly enough, mine didn't come installed. But still, it wasn't hard to install myself. |

Works flawlessly with my pad. The only red octane product I actually like. _________________

Do you think I should just replace the one I have with another one? Maybe they screwed up and made half that work, and half that don't. |

Hey,
I'm kinda new to DDR ( I play once every few months at my local arcade so hence I'm still at standard/difficult difficulty here (which in america/japan is light/standard.) and I'm looking to raise both my skill at DDR and lose weight via playing it) so I've decided to buy a home system, and my father has agreed to buy me a cobalt flux.
However, I don't know if I should get the arcade mod or not, because maybe once in a blue moon I'd like to solo and I can't solo with the arcade mod on, right? How easy is it to take off for a while then put it back on?
Of course, 99% of the time I'll be playing normal ddr but maybe I might want to play solo and I'm afraid the panels might be covered and rendered unusable :S.
I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, I've seen people here who are new to DDR and when they ask a question they never come back because of the verbal beating they get. I've looked around this whole topic for an answer and couldn't find it so I'd appreciate it if you guys could take a little time to answer them:
1) Does the arcade mod stop the use of the , and the PIU button?
2) Would you recommend the arcade mod or not for a beginner trying to learn his way up to heavy?
3) Is the trio linker plus the best one for the cobalt flux?
Thanks for all your help, I'm looking forward to a swift reply. |

@ Mikl: Why not? If your still under warenty, I wouldn't see why you wouldn't try and get a new one.
@ zeropositive: 1.) No, the arcade mod does not render those arrows usless. It does, make them a little bit harder to hit, however. Although I do not own an arcade mod at the moment (Jupichan, the only one that comes to my head at the moment, may be able to help you with this more than I can), but you still should able to play solo. But hey, you might not even want the arcade mod. If you go to the arcade a lot, and you like the way the arcade pads are, then go ahead and buy them.
2.) Again, its all up to you, if you like the way an arcade pad feels, then by all means go ahead and purchace it. Its all about the players prefrence.
3.) I use the RedOctane Universal Adaptor (Or, see here), and I like it quite a bit. There are a few people who have not gotten it to work (Like Mikl), but it works perfectly for me. No lag what-so-ever in stepmania.
If you need more help, CF has a thread about the adaptors that work with the CF. _________________

If you want to be able to remove the arcade mod to play solo mode or whatnot, make sure you ask for a "reverse mod kit" or something very close to that as well. Because apparently, if they install the mod kit for you, they won't give you the extra lexan panels that would be replaced with the kit. It makes sense, really. Why shell them out if you presumably won't be needing them?
So if you ask for the reverse kit or just ask for them to not install it, you should get the corner lexan panels along with the rest of your pad, so you can switch between the arcade mod and not having it.
And it's really not all that hard to install/remove it. Took me a matter of minutes. |

I just got my flux today, WONDERFUL!!! I was able to play heavy mode in both socks and shoes and not have any problems, no annoying clicking, no sensor problems...
100% satisfied from a 4+ year DDR (and ITG) player. Thank you CF! _________________

1) Yes (Well you can still hit them but it is significantly harder to activate and thus will make solo not fun.
2) It is really only useful for really competitive play in my opinion. You can probably get by without it. The only reason I really got it was to make my pad look more like and arcade pad.
3)No idea what you're talking about |
