I was looking up these pads, and it looks like they're on sale at about $90 off the retail price. They weren't a few days ago, so I have to assume they're getting ready to roll out the next version of the pads with four-sensors per arrow. Anyone know if they plan on doing any other upgrades to the design? Maybe enforce the middle of the pad so it isn't as squishy as people are reporting here?
I'm thinking of getting one to compare with my Flux, but I'm not sure if I should wait for the new version, or get these at a steep discount. _________________

Is mymybox introducing the next version of the pad with four-sensors per arrow? |

If the two-sensor-per arrow design is already super sensitive why are they going to make a 4-sensor-per- arrow version??
Because that would mimic the arcade even more so? _________________

I should be getting one of these pads and if I do I'll come up with a nice review loaded with pics for everyone I posted up my review for the Afterburner in the other thread.
I don't know why they would even need to include 4 sensors instead of 2. My guess is that they want to do it just for the bragging rights |

Having 4 sensors paced on the outside edge of the arrow makes it so that the arrow is equally sensitive no matter where it is hit, and no matter what the weight of the player is. The 4 sensor pad is also supposed to feature 'lights'. It remains to be seen how 'lights' would be implemented. In the arcade machine they are cold-cathode lamps. These run about $20 for a set of 2 4" lamps including the transformer necessery to produce the thousands of volts required to excite the gas to a plasma state. The biggest problem I see is that the PS2 controller port can not possibly supply the ~20 watts required to light 4 sets of them - the pad would need some kind of plug in power adapter - not a popular option.

I have successfully developed a connector cable which allows me to hook this pad to an 9-pin dsub control box (afterburner, ignition, TX-series). This yeilds specific advantages. First I can have compatibility with PS2, PC, and XBOX (not that I have an xbox so I can't vouch). Second the start and select button are now available without swapping to a controller . If anyone is interested and thinks they can solder (you'll need to drink a bit of coffee to solder 7 wires to a 15 pin dsub) I can provide schematics to my cable. |

I have a question about the Blueshark GXG. Is the no-bar version a better deal the the actual bar version? I heard the bar sucks, but I want to make sure.
Thanks!! |

I dont have a blueshark, so I have no clue about how the bar is, but if you use the bar alot, go for it cause it's not too much more $. They LOOK pretty good... _________________

Once again, Wakka Lakka has the news you need:
Ok here are the pinouts from the Blueshark pad:
Pin 5 - common connection
Pin 7 -Up
Pin 8 - Down
Pin 9 - Left
Pin 10 - Right
Pin 14 - Circle(A)
Pin 15 - Cross(B)
It should be able to be wired to just about any control box out there. Also I am going to be reducing the number of images in my earlier post of the disassambly of the pad. Some will be left, but I need the space for
other images.

The start and select buttons work on the PS2 control box which shipped with my pad. They work, but you have to press them hard and deep down.
Earlier this week I ordered an Xbox control box, which has a slightly different cosmetic appearance than the PS2 control box and is labeled Back/Select and Start. I haven't tried the two buttons yet, as the Xbox games can be controlled simply with A, B, and the arrows and I didn't try quitting any songs.
One thing I noticed upon using my BlueShark on the Xbox was that MyMyBox got the button placements "right". X and O are where they are on PS2 pads, B and A are where they are on Xbox pads and are wired as such.
Also, I haven't noticed the center of my pad being weak, but I have noticed (or imagined) a weakness when I step on the back block of the pad where the bar goes into. The pad itself is still as sensitive and operational as when I first got it. |

I ordered one yesterday at Discounted Price ($279.95). It was out of stock, but I was able to reserve one after receiving an email from mymybox.
upgrade from blueshark dx
After I receive it, I will compare with AB and CF. |

Does anyone has a blueprint for this blueshark metal pad?
I am thinking of making my own style of blueshark style metal pad. |

I think MMB is going to make a move for replacement DDR AC pads or something. They have this link up for a "BLUESHARK METAL PAD ARC - COMMERCIAL EDITION - N/A" And its $1,199.95. Sorta...odd.
Anyways, the BlueShark evolved nicely, Ill still stick with my CF though. Its darn close to the arcade as well. _________________

When I look at the picture, it seems that there are 4 support and 2 side support. size of screws, etc..
I am trying to make my own style of blueshark style metal pad.
Thanks in Advance. |

If I were you , I would wait until next week and check the E3 Expo. I visited their website to check more information about blueshark , then I found that mymybox has new metal pad.
it is called nexen pad and it has very similar description of CF. if it is very similar, then I might buy this nexen pad. Look at the price. As far as I know, Blueshark seems nice, but it is too heavy to move around.
I actually do not have that much money to buy this blueshark metal pad. if it is around $199.99~$249.99 with shipping, I might consider buying one.

hi! I have a question.
is it true that BlueShark metal pad GXG-B version (with a handle bar) is not as good as GXG (without a handle bar)?
I was about to buy a CF pad. However, I changed my mind after had a chance to play on real Blueshark metal pad GXG at E3. mymybox only had a GXG model blueshark metal pad at the E3. so I was only be able to play on BlueShark metal pad GXG (without a handle version).
any detail information would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance |

Has anyone test the blueshark metal pad at E3 EXPO?
I heard that they had 2 different metal pads?
I also heard that one of the blueshark metal pad has 4 sensors for each arrow. is it true? I want to buy a blueshark metal pad that has 4 sensors per each arrow instead of 2 sensors series.
What was the other pad? was it nexen pad or piu metal pad? |
