|
|
I've heard that home-made metal pads tend to be the best, but I'm such a dunce with anything construction-related that I'm probably going to go the commercial route. Since my original foam pad is on its last legs, I went looking and found this:
http://www.keepgaming.com/ddr/Flame-Metal.htm
I am unable to find any reviews of this. Is the "$500 sale" just a selling-tactic here, or is it actually a bargain? Is the pad actually durable?
Thanks in advance! |

Well, my main concern is lastability. Can anyone with a BNS Fusion give me a thumbs-up on its durability? I saw a thread on it, but it seems to be from the time that BNS Fusion was new and people were mostly discussing its performance. |

Well, here's basically what I want to know:
On the long term, would I be better off (money-wise) buying several foam pads, or buying the BNS Fusion? |

Edit: Glok for the lose - that's not the same pad in your link, not close. Don't buy that pad.
This pad was originally called the TX-4000. It sells under several names. Its basically a wooden frame pad with metal arrows. The 'pad' itself will never wear out (it's metal for chrissakes) The aluminum foil sensors may need some TLC at some point, but this is cheap and easy. As far as metal pads vs. softpads its a no-brainer. Why go through sevreral soft pads, ghost hits, random boos spoiling you 300 combo on breakdown? Invest in this it will last years - 179 is a great price for this pad. If it breaks you can just fix it. Softpads can't be fixed, just replaced. If you are serious about DDR a metal pad is the right choice, and you can resell it much easier than some crappy softpads (sorry, I don't like softpads, they are like disposable cameras) |

OK, this should be the last question
You say "179 is a great price for this pad," and also say that it's a TX-4000. In that case, would it be wise to get this:

And save money? Or is the red version (linked in my original post) perhaps modified for the better? Pardon my n00bness on this subject |
