NOTE: This thread is NOT about which DDR songs you like the least. I'm explicitly talking about which songs get more credit than they deserve.

GOOD EXAMPLE:

I personally think that Afronova is a fine song, but wow people, it's not like it's the next phenomenon in DDR.

BAD EXAMPLE:

The 7 Jump is the most overrated song in all of DDR because it sucks!

Technically, Afronova was one of the first 9 footers in DDR, basically the first arcade one, and it introduced the idea of CONSTANT twisty runs at high BPMs, unlike Paranoia, who just dipped its feet in that water.

Actually, that was just an example, in case you didn't notice. I don't really think Afronova is overrated, and I think it's easy to see why it was a popular song.

Here are my REAL choices for most overrated DDR songs:

- Cartoon Heroes (Speedy Mix) - The only real reason why this song is so popular is because it's extremely hard. Max 300 is at least challenging in a fun way, but Cartoon Heroes' stepchart is full of a bunch of frustrating jumps and sloppy sixteenths. Oh, and as for popularity based on how FUN it is, aren't there better choices out there than a speed remix of a song that was originally done by the same people who wrote Barbie Girl?

- A - I'm not really fond of the stepchart from this song the way so many other people are. The first half of the song is bellow 100 bpm, and the second half consists of lots of turning and obnoxious jumps.

These will all be based on opinion because if someone thinks a song is overrated then obviously they don't like it.

-The Legend of MAX. Retarded jumps.

GO WEST!!1! laugh.gif

Seriously, I'd have to say Cartoon Heroes (even though I like the song), since it's the hardest 9-footer & Paranoia, since it's been remixed, what, 7 times now. Also any song that's been remixed 2 or more times. WE GET THE POINT, IT'S A POPULAR SONG!!

A, it just is not that great, it's a simple song, and 1/3 of the song is at slower bpm's.

Sakura, again not that great!!

A's music is completely beautiful and then switches to like crack speed coolness. I don't see any problem with the stepchart either AND since no one I know ever plays it, I can't say its overrated.

-Butterfly wins, but thats been said.

-Speed Over Beethoven would have to be another. No, sorry, the vocals ARE annoying and the constant switch from streams to gallops isn't all that fun.

-321 Stars. Basic, uninspired stepchart with repetitive music. End of story
