The blueshark panels move about the same as the arcade. it moves about 2~3 mm. The DDR Extreme, ITG arcade panels move around that as well.

What I know is that all of the panels move. even if it is konami or andamiro arcade machine, the panels move. if you want to prevent the panel move, use sponge foam under the panel. For the blueshark metal pad panel is thick and heavy so I am not sure about that.

Anyone have the PC control box and get it working with Windows XP?

I have both a PS2 and USB control box for my blueshark, and I can not manage to get the USB c-box working on WinXP.

Have used a few USB sniffers to try and detirmine which driver I'd need with no luck at all.

Any suggestions?

Anyone get mad amounts of Way Offs while playing ITG with this pad? It's been really annoying me lately, and I've wondered if it's the same with anyone else.

I didn't have any such problems while playing ITG... Have you adjusted the corner bracket screws for each arrow?

And I REALLY want to get my hands on a USB Control Box, but they're still out of stock.. Can I buy the supposedly non-functional control box off of you?

I get way-offs, mostly from the up arrow being over-sensitive. I don't really care though, I think this is still the best home pad you can buy. Nothing is going to be perfect until they make an exact arcade replica, so I can't really complain. At home, I'm really only playing to get my FA up and work on my stamina, so occasional pad wayy-offs don't bother me too much. I've 99%ed most songs 10 feet and below, which I definitely couldn't do on any other home pad. On songs where you have to step faster, I get way-offs so scoring high on 11s, 12s, and 13s is hard, but the pad is fine for passing and practicing.

I do not have any problem so far. Whenever I play, I adjusted the corner bracket screws so that I do not get any miss fire. This is the best home metal pad I ever play. It is better than TX series, solomode metal pad (mx1100). Redoctane metal pad (not sure about AfterBurner). Other metal pad button has bounce feeling when you play. On this metal pad, you can feel the same arcade hardness. if you like the arcade button feel, you definitely need to play on this.

Has anyone noticed that the PC Control Box is back in stock, and it has a different picture now? Before the control box picture was grey, but now it's the same as the PS2 and Xbox's. Can someone confirm what it looked like before?

I need to know if this blueshark pad will stand up to 4 to 5 hours of play from heavy to light on a daily basis with around 5 to 15 people playing on it on any given day. Playing styles vary from the I stomp so hard it sounds like the floor will break to the effortless play of someone who has been playing ddr on heavy since they were in high school. Also, I go to college and do plan on holding tournaments every six months or so on the pair of pads and need to them to stand up to that as well. Do you think blueshark is a good option for this? Thanks!

I don't think any arrows will break they are quite thick and the corner stops are also acrylic with a good amount of surface area. CF may be a better option for college (blueshark weighs a ton) I have used that pad since early December and I must say it's impressive despite some flaws. Here is my feedback after 60 days:

Good:

1. Extremely accurate - SDGs, AAs, FCs every time I play. I can finally focus on FCA again. You do have to get used to the extreme sensitivity or you will get the way-offs.

2. Solid feel, arrows aren't mushy, They have a hard stop when pressed - you can feel and hear the beat. Jackhammers are much easier.

3. Heavy - does not move about. The included doubles bracket is effective too - I hooked it to an afterburner and they didn't move an inch.

Bad:

1. Control box is inferior. It does work with PS2 as far as gameplay, but not the select and start buttons (had to have a controller handy to save/exit). I opened it up and it's hot-glued with wires that are way to thin. I will be getting a new box from them soon (PC-USB) and I will let everyone know if it has improved.

2. The center seems weak. It flexes a little if you stand both feet on it. It would be nice if MMB would sell a stainless center so the pad would look even more arcade. I will be opening this thing up so I can see if it can be re-inforced somehow.

I only had been playing on about 4 weeks. I have to say. it is better than other metal pads that I played before.

I have to agree with what Wakka Lakka said.

it is extremely accurate and very sensative. Arrow is about the same as arcade machine, it is very hard. you can have the same feeling when you play on the ITG machine. I love this metal pad because it does not move at all. if you play on Afterburner, TX2000 or iON Metal pad, the pad moves alot (only compare to blueshark metal pad). I have not hooked it to other metal pad. can you let me know how you looked it up with afterburner?

The Center seems little weak as Wakka Lakka mentioned. The Control box is old style (Old RedOctane Metal pad Control box style). For the Control box, they should come up with 3 in 1 control box (PC, PS2, XBOX) like RedOctane.

The blueshark panel looks nice, but I want to have the Official Konami design arrow.

I have decided to crack this pad open and see what makes it tick. It will take me a while, but I'll put up pics when I'm done. I will try to fix the 'soft center' issue with a block of wood or something. My theory about the electronics is that they went to a 15-pin so that the pad could have all 9 arrows running. This is because they plan on selling a 5-arrow version for PIU in the applicable markets. A 9-pin dsub only allows for 8 arrows max (1 common positive, 8 contacts), but the 15-pin dsub can handle more (14 arrows to be exact). My guess is the dual sensors are just wired in parallel and not individually voted. If that's the case then I can retrofit the electronics to a 9-pin dsub and just use my old trusty TX5000 3-in-1 box. I'll let everyone know.

OK I took the whole thing apart and all. I have pictures but it will be a week or so for me to get the writeup together. Once the pad was opened I discovered what makes it so heavy- a tubular steel frame! Using a few blocks of wood I was easily able to rectify the flexing of the center arrow - its quite solid now. I also noticed that although the design of the pad is first rate, someone need to slap around the folks on the assembly line. I found two wires that had not been correctly routed and were starting to fray where they had been crushed by the frame (I fixed this and taped them down to prevent it again).

If you want to use it for PC, then buy super dual box pro. it is cheaper than buying pc blueshark control box and simple to install on your pc.

I can not wait to see the inside structure. can you also take several pictues so taht I can also fix the center. what is the size of the wood blocks that use to fix the center?

For those getting way offs

I always get them when I lightly step on the pad if I step hard I never get way offs.

I think this is a flaw but possibly might help for a temporary solution
