Jimbo is totally an enigma. he got amazing really fast and we dont know how.
James, you can use mods in beginners mode. you just have to select level 2-3. all it does is make mods available and songs of high difficulties, it doesnt actually make it harder. my girlfriend does level 2 so she can make use of hi-speed .5. _________________

Some people just pick up on games really fast. And then some of those people get amazing at them.
Like, I've played IIDX VERY VERY sparingly throughout the last two years (like maybe 6 times?), but I actually bought and started playing it at home a lot in the last two weeks. I can already pass a few songs on 7Key and I've already passed my first Another (Desolation, which is really easy, but still).
I haven't AAA'd anything yet though. _________________

I think it's all the StepMania. LOL.
Oh, and to clear up any confusion - I went from Beginner to 7Key in TWO WEEKS, as in I bought and started playing on Beginner two weeks ago and am now on 7Key. Not two years. I played IIDX for the first time two years ago, and I only got to play it at cons (hence why I only played it like 6 times in two years), since no one in my hometown had it.
I'm not bragging about my skills (I'm actually very surprised. I thought I'd be stuck on Beginner forever), I just had someone IM me about it last night while I was asleep and I wanted to clear it up. _________________

After my 8 month hiatus I can finally AAA scrubby 8s again. Some of them. God my left hand is so weak. My reading surprisingly got better somehow after just 3 weeks of playing. But my left hand. Oh man. When I get Shakin 31[A] i'll quit for a few days. Fire is good at this game. (with fierce determination to win battles D; ) _________________

Jesus, talk about a prodigy. I'm barely learning how to play 6-7 star songs on 7 keys. Right now it's hard to tell which is better the Ransai ASC or the DASC. Both companies are trying to make the best controllers for your best gaming performance. I mean.. I have a KASC and it still sticks unfortunately Every now and then I'll have to clean it. _________________

not everyone can be as good as everyone else. I know a guy who has been playing since 1999 and he can't barely pass all the songs, quasar [a] is just stupid.
don't set your goal further than you can see and you will advace faster than you though possible.
The people who are really good at beatmania/IIDX play for the fun of the game, not to be better than other people.
Anyway, I passed Rainbow Rainbow 7k yesterday and now i feel so awsome. _________________

As for Distorted, should I expect that it won't have "Chick songs"*?
(Sorry if the Q sounded sexist, but I heard that it has a "dark" theme).
In addition, can someone please give me back stories on the DJs?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't IIDX the "flagship Bemani franchise"?

Well, "Happy Sky" had maybe five total "happy" songs, so I wouldn't really count on that.

I believe Konami called it that, yes, but I think Pop'n still has more players, just because it's more accessible to all kinds of people.

Do you play DDR? If so, you shouldn't be afraid of "girly" songs, given that more than half of DDR's entire songlist is those types of songs. _________________

If you don't like playing "chick songs", as you call them, you might as well stop playing BEMANI games altogether right now. _________________

Sorry about that. It's just that the rest of the guys in my area are testosterone-laden (as in, ready to attack my manhood, when given the chance).
Going back to topic, I'm curious when (as, what year) Konami announced that IIDX = flagship. |
I suspect 2002 is when Konami announced that IIDX was the flagship of the BEMANI series. DDR was dying and the rest of the games were still pretty obscure. _________________

Thanks. In addition, was the original beatmania the "default flagship"? _________________
