I dare anyone to call me a nutcase on this one...

...but, is it a good idea to play DDR in a fatsuit? biggrin.gif

Also, is it a good idea to just drink energy drinks/Lemonade?

You could try it with ankle weights... then when you take em off, it'll be that much easier.

Well, I drink Lemonade on a regular basis, and it really hasn't affected my performance that much. Mostly I switched over from Root Beer to Lemonade, and obviously no more soda gut. Also 60mg Sodium, so it's not too bad. When I play I'll do just water, but Lemonade works well for me.

Another thing you should consider is complex carbohydrates. I'm not sure what all of them are, but pasta is a very good example of complex carbs. That gives you a LOT of energy, and doesn't make you hold as much water. Also your proteins and meats.

But diet and DDR isn't always enough. For the harder DDR songs, you need stamina. If you're on a college campus and live on the 3rd or 4th floor of your dorm, this is no problem, just always take the stairs. Arm strength, your generic push-ups work very well.

As for ankle weights, I don't use them.

Eh, I'm not overweight (underweight if anything, 110 and 5'7"), but I use DDR/ITG as a large source of exercise - an hour or so a day of 9 and 10 footers on ITG and a couple rounds of MaxX Unlimited consecutively E10.gif .

Ankle weights, that's a great idea, except I have a foam insert pad that'll probably die if I use those >___>

FYI: Your body can burn muscle if your heart rate gets too high during a workout. Search google for safe heart rates for exercise. This is dependent on your age and weight.

DDR/ITG are great for exercise at home on my flux. Keeps me in shape for I can play Pump decently for the few times I can go to the arcade, which is once a week on average.

Here's that heart rate info stuff you were talking about. I'm not sure where my pulse is when I'm playing though. I never stop to check...
