Okay, I have a mild physical disability that affects my bones, making them weaker and what not. I play DDR as much as I can since it's so fun and it's exercise.

But here's the problem. Right now I can manage to pass 'Standard' difficulty songs with a B or C (sometimes A), but my body can't handle all the jumping about on the faster songs.

I play the PS2 versions since they're no arcades in my little town, so I can turn off the jumping and avoid this whole problem, but does it take away the authenticity of DDR? Would I be considered a wannabe or a fake?

You actually CAN turn off the simuntaneous steps. Just go into the options menu after u choose your song and there is some option that will turn those steps off, but Im not exactly sure what it's called erm.gif

No, you can't turn off jumps. That's only in ITG. You can, however, turn off everything except quarter notes, which are the ones on the downbeats.

Meh, I'm pretty sure that you can in Extreme 2. You can convert the jumps into one step or take them out completely.

Yeah, Ex2 is the only one (to the best of my knowledge, which excludes any Xbox mix). And yeah, it'll make the song easier (especially if that's part of the song's "signature," like maybe the sequence of jumps in Drop Out), but most people probably wouldn't be like "ur week bones r haxing me turn jupms on its not fair"

I do hope your right...

even if I were to keep simultaneous steps on, they'd have better odds of getting a better rank, but seriously, who compares they're "dance dance-ing" with a handicap? (I actually used that as a come back when my friend kept saying how better he was than me laugh.gif...)

Yes, in DDR Extreme 2 you can turn off jumps. And I wouldn't consider it anything to be ashamed of either if you have physcial problems.
