Starting pop n on a small controller is okay imo, to at least get a feel of how it plays and where the buttons are.

Once you get into the upper lvl 30 range of difficulty, hitting cobinations of notes becomes harder. Like having to hit 3 or more buttons at once. It's around that time where using your fingers makes it harder. And maybe less fun.

Then again, it feel like certain songs were meant to be played on the small controller. Has anyone full comboed Pure hyper with the ASC?

Man what is up with the PoMu forums lately? It's like one person posts every couple of weeks! Anyways, I was looking forward into getting an ASC and I saw a previous post for directions on making one of your own. I was wondering how much total would it be to buy everything listed? On another note, I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO close to buying a KOC auctioned off on eBay over the weekend but a damn sniper swiped it from me and another big spender jumping the bid to over $300!! I guess it was naive of me to think that I'd win it for the $80 I put on it in the first place E4.gif !

Back on topic, should I just go ahead and buy the Desktop Arcade controllers instead of going the do-it-yourself route? I never took shop class in high school E15.gif !

Oh yeah. TAIGA DORAMA: Taiga Remix kicks buttocks!

If you don't have any woodworking or soldering skills, do yourself a favor and just buy one from a manufacturer, yeah. It's pretty difficult if you don't know what you're doing, and almost impossible if you don't have any power tools to do it with.

quoted for emphasis

I bought my DA ASC a little over a year ago and this thing really does take the beating of a lifetime. Playing 37s on up takes a lot on an ASC so you need a tool that will serve you well. Just buy one. It's a lot easier.

Well, I'm convinced. I guess I'll head over to the DA website and order one right away. The CS controller is giving me a false sense of security. I'm certain that I can't clear the songs as easily as I did with the ASC (I'm at the low 30-ish level). I'll be stationed in Japan in the next couple of months (yay!) and showing my Pop'n skillz off is on my things-to-do list once I'm there. Should I go for the bare bones ASC or the one with the design? Also, how long does it usually take to arrive after it's shipped?

-Level 30's songs cleared-
House: Feeling of Love

-Level 30's songs working on clearing-
Winter Dance: White Eve (The damn endng is killing me!!)

well its supposed to be about 1-2 weeks, but mine took longer because he had a little problem ordering buttons... but that shoul dbe all resolved

steve also said he has a few available for immediate shipment if you want a plain color controller, so i might go for that just to have it sooner.

Alright, guys. I went ahead and got off the fence and bought myself a Desktop Arcade ASC. It's Christmas so I figured that this would be a gift to myself (it would've been the Xbox 360 but we all know how dry that situation is at the moment). I didn't want to shell out more than 250 bones so I got a blue controller w/o a design for 225, including shipping. I can't wait for it to arrive! Merry Christmannukwanzaka everybody!

Recent lelve 30's Song completed:
Winter Dance: White Eve

Level 30's Song working on:
Cyborg Senshi: 009

I'm rather pissed that I can't find a Pop'n Music location.

I live in Pomona, CA, and I am already itching my palms (no innuendo intended) to play the game.

Any known locations along the 626/909/951 areas are preferred (although I have to admit that I don't want to waste my time, driving all the way over to San Bernandino disturb.gif )

Did you forget about Arcade Infinity? You're not that far from it.

Though personally, I slightly prefer the machine at Pro Swap Meet, San Bernadino since it's easier to hear what you're playing. And plenty of people watch you too.

Thats all you get in Southern Calfornia and I am really greatful.

I didn't realize it till now, but 100king is kinda hard. I'll post some vids sometime soon of my accomplishments. I'd like to pass and break 90 on another 39 or 40 maybe. So far I got Everyday Lovelyday EX and some other easy EX. I could post those.
