Hey,

Just read the reviews for all the listed soft pads, and so far it seems that one of the Level 6 pads or a Konami pad (Xbox versions, plywood-and-plastic mod) are really the only decent options. Does that sound about right? Any additional reviews on either of these pads?

If my skill factors in: I get A's on most Beginner songs, Sakura makes me cry, and I haven't managed a single Light song yet.

Just looking for a little extra confirmation that one of these might actually work.

Thanks for your time.

If you're on beginner and light mode then Konami's soft pads or any other soft pads are the way to go.

A soft pad should be just fine for you, just make sure you don't fold it up when you store it away, otherwise the sensors might get a little messed up E2.gif

The best soft pad is RedOctane's In The Groove pad, hands down.

I played on 2 Mad Catz pads mounted a piece of plywood for about a year. Those things are durable as hell E1.gif And they don't have the sticky plastic surface that the Konami pads do. Theyre about $30 and once theyre modded, they'll handle up to 8 footers easily, and maybe 9 footers, but you won't need that for a while biggrin.gif

flat softpads are created equally with the exception of the konami official and some redoctane stuff... but talk about it here http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=102612&start=80

Yeah, I started the new topic after reading that one...I forgot about the

don't bother asking or debating if any sub-$30 pad is any better than any other sub-$30 pad

rule, sorry...I appreciate the responses and guidance. I got so much confusion from the mixed reviews on all the random pads, and I wanted some personal discussion on at least those two. Tho it probably would've ended up mass confusion again.

In retrospect, I can kinda see that this is kinda another case of Noob With A HAY GUYZ WICH 1 DO I GET THE INGITON OR TEH KOBALT FLUSH Question :x

Sorry for the mistake.

But...with all due respect...I have to say...wow you guys are weird about keeping posts organized o.o Every topic ends with "..., and the right topic is <link>here.</link>"

Good way to battle spam, tho, I'm sure E1.gif Thanks again E1.gif

Dont do it. Spend a little more and get a softpad with a high-density insert and raised arrows. The softpads I got off ebay still work a year later. Flatpads are junk because you will outgrow it very fast. It won't be long before you are passing heavy and need a better pad.

I think the main reason I point others to threads of the same topic is for the sake of keeping reference material together. The forums are somewhere you can look for an answer before asking, because odds are, the answer is already there. The more we organize these answers, the more likely it is that the answer you look for can be found easily.

Makes sense E1.gif

I ended up getting a NakiWorl(d?) foam-insert-type one. I hate it so much. I'm glad my husband likes it E10.gif

It's like dancing on QUICKSAND AAAAAAAAH

(even tho mythbusters says quicksand doesn't exist)
