I just got my flux, and i'm going to be completley OCD and ask these:

I'm coming from an ignition, and I truly don't see a difference in presicion. In fact, i'm missing more, because I have to press harder and don't know where my feet are.

So,

1) How do I know if my CF is presicise as the rest? How do I know I diddn't get a bad one?

2) How do I know if my pannels came to tight? How do I know what's a good level to loosen them at? (I've played around with tightening and loosening, again, I really diddn't see a difference)

I'm on heavy mode, can do up to 9's, playing since august.

I just switched from a horrible soft pad I got on eBay for $10 to an Afterburner (metal dance pad) and I also noticed that my scores didn't improve right away. It takes a while to get used to the different panels, but already I'm able to pass a bunch of new songs on heavy, so just give it time E13.gif

I also want to get a cobalt flux, but I can't since the site is down frown.gif

Any news yet on the xbox-compatible control box? It was supposed to be available on Christmas day, IIRC. I heard someone say that it was available but sold-out, but I haven't seen that on the site.

I know I can build one or buy a converter, but I just feel that if I'm going to spend $300 on something, it should come with everything I need. I also want to make sure it's covered under warranty- I've had tons of problems with pads in the past. I've heard that I shouldn't have anything to worry about with cobalt flux besides the cbox, but I'm a deadweight and most of my pads have had problems within about 2 weeks of use E13.gif

Hah. Looks like bandwidth exceeded.

UGGG.

Cobalt Flux better do something about this, usually when bandwidth runs out, you have to wait until the end of the month for it to reset, which I am not keen on doing. I have been waiting forever for my mom to say yes to ordering one, and now the fucking site goes down.

Hey, if it means anything, I went the whole time without an order change...in fact, the day mine came (I checked it that morning) it said 'not yet shipped'.

From whom or where did you hear that - I also cannot locate any mention of a new cbox on the CF site. Was the xmas thing just a rumor that has turned out to be false??? And - IIRC - the cbox was supposed to have a PIU option/mode - did the unnamed rumor-monger mention if that was to be included on the xmas release???

They don't tend to announce to much on the site itself, most of the action happens on the forums. There will, however, definitely be an xbox c-box unless they've been lying to us E13.gif

There is a PIU mode: "Here's a slick update. We're planning on having a PIU mode, where when you hold start+select at boot up it changes the button mapping to PIU instead of DDR." See http://www.cobaltflux.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3519&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 for more info on this- Vance actually works for CF.

Excellent - thank you - I have never looked at their forums before - didn't even really know they were there.

With the clear kit on, you can still hit the corner buttons. I don't have a black mod kit, but I'm guessing it's the same kind of thing.

The black one is better- its got less traction so you can move your feet faster.

How does the black have less traction? The black panels are textured and replace your center and corner buttons. The clear go under your existing panels.

Yay! My pad was originally going to be shipped tomorrow, but my mother, who ordered the pad for me as a Christmas/Birthday gift, emailed them twice today. Once to ask when it was going to be shipped, and another time to thank them when they said it was going out tomorrow.

Then when my mom mentioned that my birthday is on Monday, they said they'd ship it out tonight. w00tcore.

I feel like i'm doing something wrong with my pad. I've been dacing on it for about 3 weeks (Mostly 8-9 footers) and I still feel like it isn't the uber-sensative juggernaut that its hailed as. My scores are lower, it likes to not register some arrows (fixed by messing around with the screws, only happened twice), and I'm scared of the base cracking. Once my warrenty expires im gonna have to build a base for it I guess. I think i'm gonna get the arcade style mod kit to see if it helps (Maybe my scores are lower because i'm accidently stepping on arrows?). I really wanna see if the Blushark would've been worth it E10.gif

I know this is sounds like a real obvious question, but did you turn the corners off in the options menu? I was using my CF in frustration for almost a week before I realized I didn't have the corners turned off. My CF played perfect after that.

The thing is, I was expecting to see an option that actually said "turn corners buttons off" or "use dance pad controller" (like in ITG) or something like that. It was just the option to turn off controller 1 & 2 though. And I also realized that you can't turn them off in Extreme without a special hacked save file.
