Just to ensure. You're trying to change your avatar away from the 'snowing' one. Yes? _________________

Are you deleting it because it won't work unless you do. |

And to wit, I changed my avatar to the snowing one, and it worked fine too. _________________

Actually, I believe if you use the check box (to delete) and also try to insert the link for the new image then you will get the problems. _________________

Laura, can you give us the URL of the avatar you're trying to use? _________________

and this isn't the first time it's done it to me. It did it with my previous avatar too, not the snowing one, but the one i used before that, which was
I never checked the delete box, I just put the url in there and click submit. Before with the other one that I had problems with, I deleted the old avatar, clicked submit, and it deleted it, then I went back and put in the url to the new avatar, and it never showed up.
edit: I moved the picture in my photobucket to my main page, instead of being in a sub-album, and all of a sudden it now works... i dunno whats up with that... _________________

It's probably because the filename is so long. I imagine the restriction on input fields is at 50 characters or so. If you shorten that folder name to something like just "DDRFreak", you should probably never have the problem again.
Those spaces that are getting expanded to "%20"? That counts as three characters, BTW.
phpBB in general has a problem with invalidating input fields that are too long, but still reporting to the user that whatever they were trying to do worked. I fixed some bugs on our boards related to this earlier this year. I guess this is another one that needs to get fixed, but it's such an unlikely scenario that I think it's probably just easier to fix it on a case-by-case basis. _________________
