Is a DIY pad the best pad for the lowest price?

I don't have the money for a CF but I want a solid metal pad, and I have a decent amount of time to work on it.
So if DIY is the way to go, which guide should I use?

if youre talking about HOMEPADS, maybe you should try the HOMEPAD THREAD

and homepads is basically riptides...

and it all depends on exactly how much you want to spend... if u want lights or the option to add them in later... if u want a more arcade-like pad...if u want a thin pad...if you........(list goes on)
