|
|
Hi, I followed the instructions to build a pad on the ddrhomepad site but I'm now at the moment I need to wire and weld the pad.I wired like it said on the site, but what I want to do is to now make the pad work for a keyboard and not for a PSX controller. I already have an adaptor for SM and it's not working so I don't want to buy one. I want to have it linked to a keyboard for SM.
If you can help, please do ! I have been searching on how to do it for 3 days, I'm desperate now...
Thanks in advance... _________________

One possibility might be to disassemble a keyboard and figure out how to wire the pad to 'press' the keys. (Just like wiring the pad to the Playstation controller).
I think it would be difficult to do your own electronics to interface directly with the computer via the keyboard port, though. Keyboards are really complicated.
Better than both those suggestions, though, would be to use a joystick interface. You could just get a cheap one and do as with the PSX controller (this is what I would personally do), or you could make your own. Analog joystick circuits are relatively straightforward. _________________

Keyboards use a matrix configuration and therefore can have problems when it comes to pressing more than 2 or 3 buttons at once. I would say to get a cheap USB gfamepad and do that. Itll work out better. Wire to the buttons, not the D pad to be sure axis doesnt screw you over |

Now I know that I shouldn't post twice in a row but it's been 4 days since the last post. I tried soldering to a psx controller instead and it won't work. I have followed all the steps described on the ddrhomepad page and the contacts are not working right. When I press the arrows, they don't even respond and the right arrow seems to be sticky (when using a converter in sm and configuring the pad, it always presses the right arrow when I am not pressing it...).
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks ! _________________
