IMO, 4th is better to improve faster. Fantasy and Jive into the night is on there so it's gg. I've been playing 4th style for almost 2 months and sight reading is a little easier on the newer styles.

5.1.1[a] is only rated a 1 because 5.1.1 7k is a 1. That's how the 7k/Another rating system works. That's also why Holic[a] is only a regular 7.

Nothing is wrong with me. I dont think it tops 7th's songlist by 20 million, because the songlist for 9th isnt even that great, unless ur a person that likes DDR originals getting ported to IIDX, which I didn't. And I didn't really notice a difference in timing.
Oh yes, and I have gotten to play 6th style more, and I realized that 9th is probably better than 6th style. |

Timing on 9th kicks ass but you don't improve faster than the older styles.
Improving faster <<< 4th
Improving slower 8th >>>>
Hell I can't AA empathy L7 on 4th style but people are bias of their opinion on song list. V has been on every style since 5th style CS and.. it will be on for 10th style ;_;

STOP THINKING NAOKI IS GOD HOLY SHIT
9th style has one of the worst song list. Everything is eurobeat or a remix of some older song. It gets super old really fast. |

Ahem. I love both 7th and 9th songlists, though I'm absolutely loving the 6th and 9th I have. Lots of eurobeat, lots of Outphase and LOTS OF LED <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

I've been told (from a lot of the users on BemaniStyle) that 5th and 3rd Style are very beginner friendly.
4th is terrible for beginners. Seriously, until you're on at least Light7, don't bother getting 4th.
6th is okay, but the easier songs aren't THAT easy (I would know, I own it and my boyfriend is having terrible trouble with Beginner Mode on it).
7th is okay. The songlist is awesome on it.
I don't know much about 8th and up though. Haven't gotten them yet.

I am not sure if 9th style is a good game for beginners on L7.
But if they do manage it, they will need plenty of practice on 7key, since most of 9th styles songs are 7 stars. 9th style is probably not a good choice to get as the first IIDX game. |

6th lies! i remember when i started i played all the 1s until i beat them, then the 2s, etc. DXY! was listed as a 1 though, and it took me forever. it was later upgraded to a 3. that one held me back for a while.
i personally think 10th is absolutely amazing and its my favorite so far (smooth look with good timing, great songlist, good difficulty, etc.), but i agree, not too much for the beginners. i recommend 8th to everyone who asks me because its a nice interface, solid song list and the timing is great, and my friend who started with it has done very well, so it seems beginner friendly enough. 9th's timing is bery tricky, it doesnt feel quite on, and something about 7th to me just isnt that good. the song list is fine, but playing the game makes me angry.
my friends and i have compared this stuff for hours over the course of the time we have been playing, its almost sad how much we discuss it

I bought 10th recently, and my boyfriend (who is a IIDX beginner) has a horrible time with it.
However, I was moving into Light7 when I got 10th Style and my skill has jumped dramatically within the last two weeks. I'm already passing 6s on Light7 and a couple easier songs on 7Key. I even passed my first Another two days ago (Desolation), so I'd definitely recommend 10th Style as a step up from Beginner.

I've just been playing IIDX recently and I found out the hard way that it is very difficult. I mean, seven keys was just too much. I kept hitting the wrong keys. But then I found out that you can do mods. So I put it on 5-key which was MUCH easier. I was already passing 4's and 5's. I even FC's my new favorite song Love is Orange.
Anyways I have heard some people give out some pointers to other newbies. They mentioned not using 5-key for some reason. So I feel that I should leave it, I guess.
How long should I spend playing 5-key to get better at Light-7?
I have IIDX RED so some song recomendations would be appreciated too!

Playing 5Key will not get you used to playing 7 keys.
In fact, it actually makes it harder to move to Light7.

Hello everyone.
I'm currently debating about which style I should get.
The last ones I had were 3rd and 6th, but now i'm wanting either 9th or 10th.
Which one would you guys consider better?
Is there a song list for these two? (I've tried looking at the Konami site...but uh, the translations are a bit harder than regular Engrish) |
