you mean when people walk into the arcade and act like a newbie in front of all the teens and then they pick a heavy song and they're like "he doesnt know what he's doing" and they get an AA and all the others are like "WTF!?!"? |

It makes sense because all the Beginner/Light members haven't been here long/haven't posted much in the forums. If you really care, then use that little signature of yours. _________________

is it unfair that only moderators can be maniac / challenge members, when us trick, light, and begginer members can play heavy?
all it means is that you regestered more recent than others _________________

OK, after you come on the forums, you are a beginner member. Post a little bit, wait a couple days, then you become a light member. After post a lot (not spam), you eventually get upgraded to a trick member. Only people hand-picked by DDRFreak are maniac and oni members. The foot has nothing to do with what mode you play on (I sure don't play on trick =P). It's just a sign of how long you've been here. _________________

It doesnt even take alot of posts i have very few posts and im Trick. 25 posts and 44 days later you can achieve trick status (OMG) not like it matters all that much its not like you get anything for being trick over Basic. if you really care a bunch about your Status go contribute something (DDR Extreme 2 songlist has yet to be done) _________________

More like the FAQ for it, since everyone knows the songlist; my guess is the songlist isn't there because the admins have been busy, and, as a possible corollary, the stepcharts are not totally finished. The person who'd want to do the FAQ has a tall order, though, as DMM is already agitating enough without having to write about its intricacies. And original poster, it makes perfect sense for new members to have a somewhat dimunitive tag, since the average post looks like yours. _________________

I don't think that you were playing on heavy your first time playing DDR. If you did you should have your own special tag because NO ONE does that. So, like DDR, you stay a beginner member for a while to show that your still new. As a beginner member we know that you have zero credibility and any newbish comments by you should be ignored. You might also may be given a little more slack when you mess up. If a Trick Member posts in the wrong forum it's not at all acceptable... They've been here long enough to know better. It's forgiveable however for you too as your new, For example this very thread belongs in Site Feedback, not DDR Chit Chat.
Once your a basic member you still don't have credibility, but you ARE expected to act correctly in the forums. You've been here 14 days, and should, by now, have made it through all of the forum rules, learned by trial and error, and overall known enough to not look like a complete "no0b." Once again, we probably won't belive anything you say without significant and valid info to back it up.
Once your a trick member you have SOME credibility, simply because you have been around long enough to know better. If it sounds tangeable we'll give it though, but if it sounds dumb we'll still disgregard it. You should know how everything works by now, and a useless thread or a post in the wrong forum will recieve disasterous results. By now you should know what threads have been done to death, what question you simply don't ask, and what people you do not mess with. From here you either are approaced by a mod or admin (perhaps just admin, I don't know) to become a mod (happens for the few select who always obey forum rules and show over-all willingness to participate and regulate), or you can, at anytime, contribute something to the site to become a Contributor. More details on Contributing are available in Site Feedback.
Now do you get the gist of the levels. It does not indicate your skill in DDR. That's what your sig is for. This simply tells us about you, not your DDR skillz.
EDIT: This does not reflect how you be dealt with my mods, but rather how you'll be treated and recepted by the rest of us here on the intar-web. |
