Well, my parents and I have worked out a deal. They're going to buy me the first pad, because they're oh-so-nice. But should I ever want a second pad to play doubles (which probably will happen in a while) I get to buy the second pad.

Seems fair. o.o

I just received my CF Today, but when I pulled it out of the box, it instantly vaporized. I think I should talk to a Sales Rep. about that. Next time, I'm getting an Afterburner!

Nope, Cobalt Flux does not currently support USB. They only have control boxes out for the PS2 at the moment. They are currently working on getting out a c-box with USB and X-Box support, but that is in the makings, and no release date has been given out, as far as I know.

You'll have to buy an adapter in order to play on the PC with a CF for now.

I'm almost 19 and my parents have better things they could do with their money than buy me a dance pad. But they won't let me buy it myself. Gah.

This is all over the forums, but since I read all the useless posts in the adapter threads, I'll post what I did. If you only get 1 flux like I did, and you have a free parallel port:
http://www.buynshop.com/productinfo/45/VG-PS-PS2PC4/
works perfectly with drivers from
http://www.aldostools.com/dpad.html
Try the different drivers there if the first one you try doesn't work. PSXpad worked for me.

If you're getting two, or you're using your parallel port for a printer or something, the best USB adapter I've heard about is called Trio Linker Plus. You can google that and find places to buy it.

Aside from that, I just received my Flux on Saturday and am very happy with it. I had to roll it in the house do to the extreme weight and haul it downstairs, but once it was out of the box, it was quite a sight. I already slightly injured my right foot with a few swollen muscles, but it definitely held up to my test session E4.gif

i just called and queried about the vaporization and the sales rep. told me, and I quote, "the cobalt flux wasn't built to be used, but merely for bragging rights for having an inferior pad, your vaporizing problem isn't uncommon, the cobalt flux is made from very cheap and low quality materials, and there's no way you can exchange it for a new one for the 180 day warranty is a farse, you should buy an afterburner"

YAY! I finally ordered my CF last night after about 2 weeks off DDR from having my soft pad not work anymore. I can't wait to get it after all the good things I've heard.

Uh ohhh...someone doesn't like CF!!!!

But anyway, I know a guy who's some kind of sales rep for CF, got mine brand new in the box and plastic etc. for $285!!!! I laugh at those who pay $346 for theirs and have delivery times!!!! Oh yeah, I got a week trial on one before I bought it and I still have a 6 month warranty (which ends in like a week frown.gif)!!! hehehe

Which is, of course, why mine's still working great after two years and not a single damn modification to it.

Go troll some other forum.
