By default it does not have recessed arrows. But for $25 + shipping you can have recessed arrows (your choice of 2 styles), and a great pad.

Read both threads fully, this one and the Afterburner's thread. Make sure to pay close attention to quality and known problems with the pads. Look at warranties and customer support reports.

Most DDR games have this in the Options menu. DDRExtreme 1 doesn't though. To stop the corners from activating in DDRExtreme 1, you can slip pieces of paper between the connectors and remove them if you use any of the corner buttons to make selections (X or triangle mainly). I am unsure how other non-DDR games handle these buttons.

You could also think of buying the recessed arrow modification if those don't help and it continues to be annoying.

It is actually possible to turn off the corner buttons with an Action Replay or something similar. You can download a save file from here and transfer it to your PS2's memory card. However, this will wipe out your high scores. If you want to turn off dance play and keep your scores, Sinistar has excellent instructions on how to do so here.

It's really worth the time and money to turn off dance play on Extreme. I wouldn't even think about playing Extreme on a CF if dance play was on. It's nearly impossible to full combo anything unless you play on your toes and carefully watch where your feet are landing.

But I'd feel rather guilty having them buy me something so extravagant. Heck, when I was 13, I refused to let my mother spend more than $30 of her money on any clothes for me.

Yeah, you do have a good point.

Who ever mentioned the custom arrow graphics for the pad, THANK YOU.
I would have never noticed them, this will make it so much cooler E7.gif

no the cobalt flux does not have lights anywhere on the pad (lights mean more wires which mean potentially more problems if you ever want to fix something). Owning one i find myself glued to my tv screen, thus to me it really doesn't matter. As long as it works i'm happy. Plus if you really wanted to you probably could add lights but that would require some work though.

i was at dinks
a local coffee shop with pc's
and i played ddr
they had a cobalt flux hooked up to a pc
the arrows would go off for no reason
and when you tired to hit them it wouldn't work
do all cobalt fluxes get like this eventually?
of was it because the tried it for pc

sounds like a control box problem. The cobalt flux's weakness which is vulnerable to static shocks and could cause random arrow triggering

I'm stuck between this pad and the ROAB erm.gif

I like the AB because it has the recessed arrows (although i think there is a mod that does this for the CF) and because it's a lot cheaper E4.gif

The CF seems like it doesn't break as much though, so I'm really not sure what to do. How are the sensors on the CF compared to the AB, and how does the overfeel compare?

What are these pad covers made of? I can't tell from the picture... are they worth getting? How close do they mimic the arcade compared to a naked cobalt? Does anyone have these?

I am not sure what they are made of, but the black/textured replaces the corner and center, while the clear goes under the corners and center. I'd assume the black is a tough piece of plastic, and no guess on the clear. They still allow access to the buttons that they replace/go under.

It raises panels by 1/8th inch I believe it was, which is enough to know where you are.

the blueshark pads have seemed to be coming along nicely
does anybody know if this may be competition for cobalt flux?
or just another crappy pad that breaks within a month?
