when people pick a hard song (9,10 footer) just to get your attention they kick it to Heavy mode... then at the last sec they kick it to standard and hit the button, as if noone noticed. thats when i walk away. _________________

Probably when some random guys come up and think they'll make fun of it or something by jumping around and "trying" or whatever to play. I couldnt tell if they were serious or not but it was annoying. _________________

This happened to me yesterday and i got soooo pissed off ! I was playing at the arcade with my little sister on versus mode and this group of junior high kids walk into the arcade and start trying to distract me. I got so pissed when one of them started screaming " ooo ooo, dont miss it." Then a little junior high prick jumps out onto the space in the platform between me and my sister and tries to distract me. Then this girl ran in front of the screen and blocked it. I got so pissed off and i yelled at them " Get the frick out of here! ". So then they did. I was soo releived after they left .
Sorry for the swearing but a story must always be told the true way... _________________

If you're going to play Butterfly then play it on Challenge, the steps won't keep you bored even though they're only 8 _________________

Well, not only the fact that it gets annoying, it totally beats the pad up... The pad's metal, but the arrows are plastic, they can crack and such. |

I AA'd era on HEAVY but all the MAXes are just impossible... Maybe MAX 300 but every other MAX...GRRRR!! Maybe one day. The PARANOiA Survivors are frickn hard too. Not being able to pass them makes me angry!
In the Philippines, you'd be mad at the DDR machines they have in the arcade. The only DDR Extreme machine we had...well the pad's cracked. The good machines were only DDR 2nd Mix. DDR in a 3rd-world country...what do you expect? That makes me angry!! |

Isn't that a little paranoid? Maybe they just wanted so see how many footers the song on heavy was, and then decided that it was too difficult after all and set it to standard. Always choose the difficulty that gives you the most fun out of your money |

I hate people that play standard songs and put their feet in the middle after each step and then I get up and play a bunch of 9-footers and they ask me what they did wrong. _________________

To add to that, I hate it when after you give them advice on how not to put their feet back in the middle, they just say "I'm not used to it" and don't even try to change. |

Ok i just started early this year, but I have played enough to know what annoys me.
1) Parents letting thier little 5 years prance around the metal pads on beginner.
2) People who actually play beginner. Sorry if that sounds rude, but I think it would be embarrassing. I practiced at home or at a friend's house until I was a standard before I let myself try the arcade for the first time.
3) 10-footers who act like they're all that.
4) People who talk while playing
5) Staring. I do not mind when they look at me dance or if they look at the screen or my feet. But when people (little kids expecially) stare INTO MY EYES, it really pisses me off.
6) Arcades that charge over a dollar (and 3 songs allowed per game)
7) When people get congradulated for doing light or beginner.
8) when beginners refuse to accept tips or advise
9) stompers
10) when people get impressed with light or lower
11) when people fail at freestyle moves
12) when people ask for money |

I don't think there's anything wrong with someone playing on beginner at the arcade though. Everybody has to start somewhere, and they don't all have DDR at home so there's no other choice.

I agree with you on that one though, especially the ones that keep on saying "that's crazy! How do you even do that?"
Quote: | 10) when people get impressed with light or lower |
They're beginners, so they'll be impressed by anything
Quote: | 12) when people ask for money |
These type of people are the worst. I don't mind if my friend asks to borrow some money, but when complete strangers asks for money, I'm just like "I don't even know you, get lost" |

And again, sorry if i sound rude, but I didn't always have my home version. I tried to play at someone elses house or something. But anyways, sometimes I do mind people playing beginner at the arcade, but it annoys me, because if I am waiting for my turn, I get so annoyed to watch them play very slow songs with easy steps and still get boos and misses. Also, its very annoying when they play tons of songs that are 2 or even 1 footers. >_< >_< >_<
I honestly believe that people should start at light mode and ignore beginner. If anthing, the on screen dancer for beginner is teaching people how to play the wrong way. I mean, noobs should learn how to travel on the dance pad, and the bigginer on-screen dancer keeps going back to the center. That stupid guy made me dance the more difficult way, so when i switched to light, i kept doing this silly ho down skip thing. Fortunately my cousins showed me the right way. |

i feel the same way
playing beginner at the arcade is such a waste of money. now i can understand if you go to an arcade and you've never played or even seen DDR before, then playing on beginner is allright. but if you wanna train to get better, play at home and stop holding up the line at the arcade by playing the easyest songs and playing the same song over and over _________________
