is it the Afterburner, or the original metal pad?

if its the afterburner, see my previous post (two up)

if not then i think this belongs in a diffrent topic.

well it isnt the afterburner on the first page of this thread. I figured mine was an earlier version of the afterburner though, but I am not sure.

Anyone knows if this method (sequencial's) will work for older RO pads?

Yay! I fixed my pad. Heres how:

now all i have to get fixed is my crappy C-Box.

question: has anybody figured out how to make hier own C-Box for USB yet? i dont want to destroy mine...

You can re-wire your Cbox around a gutted PSX controller and then get USB functionality by adding in an Arcade->USB chip.

as seems to be the general situation, red octane was of no help. I am just going to take the pad apart, rip their wires out and wire some new sheet metal contacts into a psx controller, a-la homepad style.

Let's get things straight here. Everyone here IS entitled to their own opinion, HOWEVER, this doesn't mean it is the right one, i.e. People who dis the Afterburner, and Redoctane in general. I'm fairly certain people like this aren't the brightest of bulbs, just assuming that CF is better the RO, clearly your being manipulated and I'm sure women walk all the f!@k over you. The Afterburner is by an extremely wide margin the best pad on the market. It is extremely solid, beautiful, and twice to a million times better in performance than the Cobalt Flux. There's no way in hell anyone can crack the panels, I weigh as much as a bull elephant, and AAA 8-10 footers with ease. After months of use, the pad actually works better than flawless, as it was shipped. The Only way anyone can possibly crack a panel is if they have swords for legs and are made of depleted uranium. Also, the pad isn't just goint to up and die, that's what stupid people said about the Ingnitions, but I've had mine for 6 months with no decrease in performance. So you cobalt flux sucking queers can suck me and my far superior pad.

RO > CF

I'm really stuck between getting this or the CF, but if you say the sensors work great and the panels don't crack then it sounds good to me E4.gif

*EDIT*

My only other concern is which pad delivers a better 'arcade feel'? I've been hearing that the Afterburner does because it has the recessed arrows and that the Cobalt Flux is just a flat pad erm.gif

Well, that's one of the first posts in this thread that actually stands behind this platform. If everyone is entitled to their opinion like you say, you don't have to insult them for it. I'm sure we could get some Afterburner owners in here that have broken panels and not have depleted uranium sword-legs.

+1 for Afterburner, but there's about -75 in here, so they're still very deep in the red as far as quality.

I won't comment on the CF until I receive in a few days.

How 'bout I post pics of my 4 cracked Afterburner arrows then? They were all cracked within a month of of receiving the pad. I only play 7-8 footers too.

vesper, do yourself a favor and read more than the last page of this thread. Then you'll see how crappy this pad really is. Cata Killer is a f'ing moron and doesn't know what he's talking about. The first thing I'm doing when I receive my replacement Afterburner is putting it up on Ebay and using the money towards a CF. It's just going to break down again in another couple months anyway, so I'm going to bite the bullet and upgrade to a more reliable pad this time.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever read.
You've obviously never set foot on the Flux.

C'mon, these are inexspensive (Compared to useful things in life) Dancing game apparati. One is to dance on one.So previous post aside, why are we arguing which pad is better for a game that's not going to get anyone, anywhere in life? And why not buy pad after pad after pad, it's the wait you pay for, and at any rate, money is a joke, and pointless. You've got fifty to eigthy more years to live, there's no need to get pissed at a pad, or its respective company, for breaking in two months. Just buy a new one with your "hard" earned joke-money.

hey I know! how about we save our joke money for more important things in life and NOT buy pads that break every few months! come to think of it, if it is used for important and necessary things in life, how is it a joke in the first place?

and also, what do you do for a living, that makes you so smug in saying that others' money isn't hard earned?

I fuse Hydrogen atoms together at 40000000 Degrees celcius to produce helium and massive amounts of energy. Not a risk of being instantaneously vaporized at my job. But yeah, money is just a giant selfish joke that's not funny, not funny at all.

Wow this is really getting out of hand.

All I can say is that mine did break a long time ago but I got a new one and works perfectly, except that every control box I get still doesn't work on the xbox.

This pad is like the 360 in a way. A lot of them work flawlessly and there are some that don't. There are also people that are bias against it and this pad and won't give it that chance it deserves.

First off you are extremely right, i broke my first afterburner within a month and a half.

My second one is working alright, but it came with several missing screws and my brakets pop out everytime i play.

Third, i have cracked all four arrow panel, it could be that i weigh 210 lbs, but im pretty sure it was my little skinny brothers who broke the panels.

Ya its still a great pad, wonderful sensitivity, it is as sensitive as the first day i got it, the only complaint i have is the screws and brakets comming out for no reason during game play.

i have played on both a CF and afterburner and i would have to say, afterburner is a more arcade experience, even if the cf has a arcade mod on it. and also the afterburner seems more sensitive, i had SO MANY random buttocks misses on a cf when i know i was hitting the frick arrow and that was on a CF that was only a month old.

im not trying to piss anyone off im just giving you my review since i have used my afterburner for a long time. (i preordered my afterburner the night they put it up for sale within the hour they put it up)
