Um, hi, my name is B.J, or B-Bop, and I'm 11, uh, I started playing DDR just last summer, and I'm rather successful if I do say so myself, I can do most heavy songs and a few challenge, I have a rather crappy mat and my sister has the one you get with DDR Extreme 2, we have that one and DDRMax 2, heh, you can probably tell I'm absolutly obbessed with BeForU, and in any case, Noria! laugh.gif Anyway, I talk a bit too much sometimes, so, I think I'll stop now! hi what's up, emjay here...27, nyc, grad student/writer/office wageslave (what they call an "office lady" in japan...i make-a the coffee). been playing ddr for about 2 yrs, just got serious 6 months ago or so, too intimidated to play in arcades and being on this site doesn't help! you people are nuts! E1.gif

i'm a decent, respectable casual player, nothing mind-blowing...can aa 7 footers in my sleep, good at most 8 footers with a few exceptions, just starting to get b's on my first 9 footers. i love the super fast n simple jumpers and gallops, cartoon heros on heavy, speed over beethoven, kick the can, etc., plus a few more complicated tunes w/ lots of 16ths and tricky rhythms, but those take more practice.

i was evil zukin for halloween and here's the proof!

Hi I'm Katie, age 28. I live near Stonehenge in the UK. I feel maybe I'm a bit too old for DDR but I still can't get enough of it!! It doesn't seem that popular over here, which is a shame, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm really a beginner but I'm looking forward to getting better and better.

I've been watching you guys for a while and I thought I'd get involved and see if I could learn something.
I'd be interested to know where people who live near me go to play DDR.

I look forward to some great discussions and tips as I get move involved with DDR E1.gif

Hi. I'm Jan. I'm a 19 year old junior year nursing student from the Philippines and I've been playing DDR for over 2 years riiight.gif . The first song I played on DDR was BUTTERFLY (Upswing Mix) on BASIC. I started on the 3rd and 4th Mixes (because those were the only mixes we had in our little city) but almost a year ago, our arcade got STEPMANIA so we tried our first Apocalyptic (10-footers...check out ULTRAMIX 3) songs... I've B'd MAX 300, PARANOIA SURVIVOR and PSM on heavy... I've AA'd a lot of songs but I never ever got AAA disgust.gif . Too bad the arcade that got Stepmania shut down. At least the new one has Extreme but the pads are all broken... blink.gif

I love the console versions too. I've been playing MAX, MAX 2, Exteme and Extreme 2 on my friend's PS2 and I'm seriously hooked on DDR. I've got PS1 copies of DDR 1st Mix-5th, BEST HITS and KONAMIX. I have ITG too and I think it's good but DDR's way better (and waaaaayy original). laugh.gif

Right now, I'm trying to build up my stamina to survive the PARANOiA Survivors and the MAXes... My friends and I are training up for doubles (I can do DROP OUT, JET WORLD, DYNAMITE RAVE, BA KKWO, ECSTACY, LOVE SHINE and a whole lot more on HEAVY/MANIAC. I also love DMX, BEATMANIA, and PARA PARA PARADISE. Right now, I just wish our arcade starts giving us more mixes of BEMANI games and I wish KONAMI gives us a new super DDR MIX on the arcade.

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Hi, my name's Jenny I'm 15 and I'm in Heavy 8 footer (i could be more depending on song riiight.gif ), I’ve been playing DDR for 2 years now and I learned to be in Heavy after 5 months when I first got DDR for PS2. The highest grades i'm able to get were just A's on Heavy and double AA's on Standard (on Stepmainia i'm able to get AA's in Heavy but thats because i have the keyboard instead of a mat riiight.gif ). I have DDR MAX, DDR MAX 2, and DDR EXTREME. I also have Stepmainia on my computer and of course I have a screwed up mat for my PS2 and no USB Converter so I 'm stuck with the keyboard for Stepmainia -_-;
My favorite Character in DDR is Emi and my favorite songs are Healing Vision Angelic Mix, A, and Candy(star). My favorite game would be DDR MAX and I like to play on the 2nd player slot/mat (a habit I guess XD). Shoes bother me so at the mall I end up taking them off just to play DDR with my friends. I do better at home then I do at the mall -_-;; which is exactly why I prefer to own a metal mat then a plastic one X3 and... getting a metal mat is kind of difficult to obtain sense I don’t know anything about which brands to get or where to get them >.< ( Ebay is annoying x_x) If you know anything about getting the right metal mat and at a fair price please tell me happy.gif Well… I hope I make a lot of new friends here =)

Hey, my name's Katherine, and in my opinion, I rock at DDR. I'm 11 years old and I've been playing DDR for about 3 years now. DDRMAX was the first video game I ever got. I only have DDRMAX and DDRMAX2 so I dont have much of a variety of songs to play. disgust.gif My favorite songs...right now I can only think of Radical Faith by TaQ and more deep (ver. 2.1). E4.gif

I doubt that any of you have any interest in what I'm about to say, but I have nothing better to do.

I'm 12 years old and I live on the Wirral in the UK. 2 months ago, I was in a very "rhythmy-gamey" mood, and was having fun setting records and the like for Donkey Konga and Daigasso Band Brothers. Then I saw that Dancing Stage: Mario Mix had been released, and so I decided to buy it. I became good at it pretty quickly and had done everything the game had to offer within a couple of weeks. Having found it so enjoyable, I decided I needed more. The only option was to buy a PS2 or Xbox just for the Dancing Stage games on the consoles. I opted for an Xbox and the 2 Unleashed games. Since then, I've been playing it a lot and have started playing various 9 footers. Just today, I got a B on CSFILSM and an A on Tsugaru. I've yet to play in an arcade yet, but next time I see one, I'll be straight on it.

Anyway, you should see me around here a lot from now on, because I'm one for posting loads in various forums.

Hello, My name is Erik. I'm 24 years old. I live in Fitchburg, and go to school at Fitchburg State College. I'm not that great at DDR, I play mostly 7 footers and 8 footers, with some 9's, and the occasional but unsuccessful attempt at a 10 footer (bag and sakura excluded). I don't want to be the best. I play to have fun, and that's it.

I started playing DDR back in June of 2001. I bought the game as an impulse buy, since the pad reminded me of the old power pad from the NES. I had never seen a DDR machine at that point, but the game looked interesting, so I bought it. I actually hated the game when I first played it. I thought that the music on DDR US was terrible, and I didn't understand the point of the game. I got somewhat interested in the game later on in the summer when I watched 2 people play on a 3rd mix, who were constantly playing Afronova and Do it All Night at Salisbury Beach. I didn't get into the game until the following summer, when I started playing the game with a friend. This was also the time when I started playing DDR in the arcade. I used to go to Acton just to play the game, which is about 25 to 30 minutes away from my house. I loved playing 5th mix there, which was soon updated to 7th, with an additional 6th mix on the side, and finally updated Extreme the following winter. The 5th mix machine was what really drew me into the game. I loved the licensed music (No Limits, Tribal Dance, and Stomp to my Beat). I played those songs everytime I went, but then found many other songs I liked as well. Petit Love was my first song that I passed on Maniac. The first 9 footer I passed was Afronova Primeval on 5th mix, which lead to passing Afronova a week later on a 7th mix. My first 10 footer was Bag (3x) on Extreme.

That's my DDR life story and I hope I didn't bore you too much. I hope to meet some cool people on these forums, since I've been reading them for years now, and finally have the balls to post now.

Heya I'm Jen. I started DDR actively 3 months ago. I am a heavy five footer at this point. I like to have fun, and its my exercise for the day/week. Working all day at a desk, makes you a boring person. But actively doing something totally contrary to yourself makes you expand personality wise in more ways than one. I love music and I really like dancing to Without You. My goal is an A on Tsugaru heavy in the next 3 months. E15.gif

T-dog, the big P
I've played PIU for 3.5 years, DDR for 2.5 so I'm pretty good I guess, I can pass every song, most with a AA, tens with an A, PSMO with a B. I like PIU a lot as well and I am in tournaments in TC every now and then.

Its too bad that he can, because i know him, not that well, but all the same.

Anyways, im pretty much the same, except i cant pass PSMO, and i havent played PIU for 3.5 years, ive only played it for a week and i can still pass a 12 difficulty i can get to the death runs on PSMO, but not finish it. Im Dan from TC and i dont participate in tournaments because i would rather just play for fun. And the tournaments here in Traverse stink, you cant do ten footers (dont know the situation in other places) and that defeats the purpose of the tournament, if you are good, you should show it. hey everyone, my friend introduced me to DDR...well us Brits are on Euromix 2 so that's what I play on hehe. Playing for about a month now and getting better.

Don't know about this heavy stuff but on my machine there is beginner, standard, difficult and expert.

Songs I can do:

B4U difficult

Can't stop falling in love speed remix difficult

Burnin' the floor difficult

afronova difficult

paranoia rebirth difficult

end of the century standard (to AA)

and some other songs which are a bit random but the ones above are my favs

songs I aspire to do:

Tsugaru expert (can do up until just past the double skips)

So deep perfect sphere remix expert (can do about 1/2)

D2R expert (nearly done)

all my faves I can do on difficult at expert level E1.gif

yeh I know I'm not that good but I enjoy it and that's what matters
