why do people hate us?

I like the older Pokemon better. The new ones are weird.

And nobody's ever made fun of me for DDR. One time, I was playing, and there was a Heavy player behind me, waiting, and when I was done, he was like "you have to learn to use the bar". Not exactly makng fun, just a weird thing to say. And then once there was this annoying little kid being annoying, but nobody's ever made fun of DDR for me.

I always get the "how do you do that?" people.

The only people who make fun of DDR are the ones who can't do it. Either that or the're just stupid because it's an amazing game. More than once some older kids have made fun of me.

One time this guy got in front of me during a song and started laughing at me. I looked at my friend's screen, then at a pause in the song, I kicked the guy in front of me in the face.

This was the only time i've ever been mocked for the game. Most peopl actually think it's "so cool" that i'm good at the game, friends, family, arcade employees.

I have a video of me doing Sakura Heavy, and I'll be the first to admit I look like a total dork. Especially the last stream which I do sans bar, a certain person (GRANT) referred to me as a "dancing gorilla".

I've never been made fun of at the arcade, I always get people standing around me in awe. It might be different since I'm a girl, and I guess girls who are into (and good) at video games are hot. Recently I was playing ITG in another city and there were these guys who were doing crap like 93.xx on Vertex2 Expert, but their jaws dropped when I got 90.xx on a few 9's and 10's. A few creepy old guys standing around too...

When I first started playing (earlier this year) I hated playing it because I felt like I sucked because I was playing Light mode and now I have advance myself to a AA'ing Standard player. I have learned to just ignore people that make rude comments about the game. And pretty soon I am going to start sporting DDR Freak at school with one of my brand new T-Shirts.

I personally feel that it breaks down to two different things.

1. If they are good or not: I'm gona take a stab and state that most people that can play a game or do something will like it to some extent and most people that can't do something wont be overly fond of it.

2. Maturity level: If someone is mature, they will just make a simple but not mean comment (ex: Wow, I would play but only stick to video games that use your hands), that sums up that they respect you but don't care for it much themselves.

It's when these are missing that people become insecure and will mock or do what ever. Thus, having very little to do with steriotyping or group, but rather important characteristics.

It's true. Playing DDR looks pretty gay. It's annoying when people talk about it. Obsessed people are really, really annoying, and this site is full of them. Ever since last Christmas, when oh so many people got DDR Extreme US console version. What surprises me is how people are getting progressively dumber.

For example: Link. Is there actually a place where stuff like this is tolerated? I've never even seen that on AIM, and God knows how many stupid 11-year-olds there are who just figured out that they can talk to people with a computer using an "easier" language based on English.

Basically, mods really need to be less lenient about these people, because they're chasing a lot of the smart users away and giving this site a worse reputation than it already has.

This happens to me on occasion when im at the arcade. cause alot of preppy ppl go there because they have mini-golf and go karts and stuff.

well im 15 and one time i was at the arcade with one of my friends. There were these preppy girls (about 13-14?) and me and my frined were just being stuiped and having a god time on the ddr amachine. we were doing freckles on light cause its got so many freaking spins in it and i dident really care for anything hard at the moment. i just wanted to have a good time. Well these girls come up and start making fun of us, and I just ignored them and at the end of the song game them the finger. then proceeded to do the next song. Well i figured i would do something hard , and try to impress them or something. so I steped it up to heavy and did max 300. normally I get like a B on it and once I got an A. Well thorough out the song one of the girls kept "acting cool" and was steping on my back arrow. Calmy I slamed my foot down as hard as I could onto hers and then CALMLY turned to face her. Picked up my right hand, and then proceeded to give her five fingers across the eyes.

Then she left

And I got a good laugh.

Moral of the story "assholes deserved to be slapped"
