o_O

Uh, don't expect any members to be blind DDR players. Since, you know, they have to see to read/type anything on here.

But I knew of someone who said he knew of a Blind man that played DDR. That's really touching to hear.

i think this post is quite illogical. one legged players can, you know, see the screen which is a necessity? and use one foot to just play easy songs? even someone with crutches can do hard songs. a blind person would have to have someone standing next to them, yelling out every arrow direction, and note timing which would just be rediculous unless they are playing the very basic stuff. and would still look rediculous anyway. one legged players look totally cool, like the video of the guy using his crutches.

so in conclusion, your idea that a blind player is more logical is so completely wrong that you might be joking, but hey, what do i know. ive come to expect rediculous statements everywhere on these boards.....

no, not joking. I got the idea when I was practicing some crazy mods and and found myself playing mostly memory. The point is that anyways when you play a song enough you're mostly just playing to the music and blind people can have excellent hearing. Whereas with one leg you need a crutch, a blind person would just need a person (or computer plugin? that would be cool) to call out steps plus a good memory!

If there were blind players, they wouldn't be on this site.

I'm asking if anyone knows of any, although I guess it'd be a long shot.

When people play backwards they are basically playing blind. I think the most serious reason why it wouldn't work is that balance would be MUCH harder.

How can they memorize something they've never seen before?

Er...actually, I do know of one blind DDR player...
Though, it's easier to understand than you'd think. You see, basically he lost his vision about 2 years ago. Before he lost his vision, he memorized like 30 songs. He's also started to memorize other songs by using braille-ish stepcharts. Unfortunately, just because of how difficult it is for him to play, he's losing interest in the game. -_-

only way i could see a bling person doing it is if he/she had a brail step chart and listened to the song and went with the steps, even then i dont think it'd be possible for him/her to stay on beat.

You don't have to be completly sightless to be classified as blind.

But I don't think anyonne with that bad sight would really consider playing video games to be the thing to do, especially such a sight dependant game.

Now a no-legged DDR player, playing with just hands, that would be more likely...

Well, if a blind person had a friend or something who took the time to teach them a song, yeah they could play but... that'd... take forever. And only memorizing how to do songs isn't really playing DDR, unles it's like for freestyle or something...

I brought this up because the game is after mostly based on sound and touch, in theory...

How would they ever know which arrows to hit? In most games you can tell what's going on by listening...but in DDR the arrows don't make sounds, there's just music in the background.

a blind man could do it, it would take about 6 years before he could get more then 100+ down.

you never know... a blind person would AAA the song, because of all the practice, and it would be on stealth, boust, X8, reverce, dark/flat

=/

When stealth is on, there's really no point for any other mod except maybe Dark.
