Hello there, before i start i will just like to say hi and how is everyone.
Anyway, im looking into buying a DDR Machine. After playing for around 2 years i have decided it is time. LoL. So now i ask, what machine should i buy? Yes, before you tell me to read that machine buying guide, i already have i just want to see wot others think. Anyway at first i was thinking to take the plunge and buy a DDR Extreme (8th mix) machine, japanese version, around $8400 AUD. But then i noticed, hey, you can just upgrade a machine.!.! Now my next question, has anyone upgraded a machine, and what is the difference?
What i mean by this is like, well i was looking at purchasing a DDR 4rd MIX for only around $4100AUD and then paying the extra $500 AUD to upgrade it too 8th mix, so what will be the difference with my 'fake' 8th mix compared to the actual proper 8th mix machine? Are the stages the same? buttons? ETC ETC. Does the disk that come with the upgrade, is that like the same as the disk in real 8th mixes?
Next question, im sure alot of you, if not all, have cheked out the channel beat website? It has like machines to buy n stuff, well is that site safe to buy from? Has anyone ever brought something from them before and if so, what was it and was it fast service? I have brought many things from the net, but when i start to deal with overseas things and prices in the high thousands, im sure we all get a little nervous. LoL. So yeah, just wanting to know if anyone has used that site before or stuff.
Next question, what is your opinion about buying machines, upgrading them n stuff? Is it best to pay the extra $2000 extra and get a newer machine that will last longer or just upgrade a really old mix?
Any help would be great, thankyou...

How about instead of a machine. Get a few cobalt flux's buy every single Version of DDR out there for ps2. Get the best speakers you can find and a nice T.V. I think thatd be better than the arcade any day(and cheaper =P)
(but if you really wanna buy a machine. i agree with every1 and say get a 3rd mix and upgrade =P) _________________

Then speakers, HDTV, all that'll be only in the high 2000s-low 3000s. Better than buying one machine and two games for $4000.
Hey money is important in this world. People try to save 10c a gallon on gas and the one with the lower price is a mile away. |

Ummm including shipping and handling and tax one cobalt flux is $345 and some amt of change =P but the bundel pack is $500 i think. So that means if you buy a bundle pack. it would be around $580 including all the shipping and stuff maybe? _________________

The local arcade where I go to play Extreme uses an old 3rd mix machine...here's the deal with our machine though! It used to be a 7th mix, right up til he got up the upgrade for Extreme...well he managed to get it to work, and tried to enter the codes...it locked the system up hardcore, and he couldn't get it to reboot...so he literally had to reinstall 7th mix, and then tried a few weeks later to get Extreme back on...it took him a while, but he finally got it...downfall is, he can't put the codes in cause it locks the whole cabinet up... It happened to our machine, not saying it happens to everyone, but it's pretty annoying when two of your favorite songs are locked and you can never play them |

its all good peoples, yeah i kinda had a realisation and descided, i dont really need a machine. So what i have done is modded my PS2 to accept american and japanese games, and i have started purchsing all the DDR titles of ebay. So since i live in australia, i already have every DANCING STAGE game, (ps: dancing stage MAX comes out on friday of this week). SO yeah. I will use the moeny i was gonna buy a machine with and put it towards all the DDR titles, a new big tv, and then i will build a new metal stage for my ps2. I already have built a metal pad before and that is still going, after 2 years of heavy me pounding it. I think its best to make the metal pads yourself so if anything goes wrong, you know exactly what, and how to fix it.
Well thanx peoples for your help. |

Just save the money and buy an ITG2 dedicab. All DDR cabinets are old and worn out, I'd never spend money on one regardless of how bad I wanted to play. |
