i played ddr for years before i started playing pump but i think pump is much better its more of a challenge ddr songs just become difficult to play because they'll be fast and physically taxing.i have more fun playing pump anyway and i'm def. glad that it came out for console finally.anyone know where to get piu metal pads tho?

That, or you mod them. I plan on doing this soon, and if you read the thread, it seems to work well. http://www.pumpcore.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1712&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I must warn you that Cobalt Fluxes do not perform well AT ALL for playing Pump It Up. I can pass 16s at the arcade with no bar, but I can barely pass Hard 7s on the flux. The arrow sizes are different. The arrows are further apart, you need to use a astronamotic loads more stamina to pass stuff because of this. Do not get a flux for Pump. Get it for ITG/DDR, but don't use it for Pump.

i guess i'll just wait for a good one to come out right now.I've done modding like that before with my ddr soft pads and it works well and plays well. i never used the spray just clear packaging tape covering the whole thing tho.i the spray is a good idea.you could do both really the packaging tape can keep it in place and help protect the pad just don't tape it to tight.i think if you tape it to tight there can be small folds in the pad and it won't play as well.when you mod it like that theres still no tactile feedback but you can play in shoes and it stays in place nicely.

Taken from PH-Online

Pump it Up: ZERO
At the World Pump Festival this weekend, Andamiro showcased the brand new version of Pump It Up. According to my source, XTRM from Korea, the game features the following:

-brand new interface
-new mode for beginners with alternate easier steps
-players can FINALLY play on two different modes at once
-a few new Banya songs confirmed (about half of them): Love Is A Danger Zone 2: Metal Zone, Beat of the War 2, Phantom
-at least one new K-Pop song: "Friend" by Cho-PD
-a few of the new songs from Exceed SE (song names not confirmed yet)
-a new "Mission Mode"

EDIT- Oh poopy, this is going to be THE BEST....

I was just wondering how the song Join the Party on crazy can be done.

the only way I found to do it is to sit on the stomp button and then use my hands to hit everything else........but is there a better way??

Hell, yes, you can do it! Just hold one foot on the center, and whirl around like a madman to hit every OTHER step! Haha, seriously, that's the way. It's actually fun after you get the hang of it. Exhausting for the one leg, but fun, lol. Hell, I'm 44 and I've gotten it down to single-digit misses before (it's an easy A for me). So, I'm sure you can do it after some practice.

For an easier time, you can do one of two things with it, also:

1) You can "cheat" and switch your "hold" foot during strategic moments in the step patterns, to make hitting the arrows easier and also giving the one leg some rest. Just don't delay getting the new foot on the center pad, or you might break your hold. You actually have a decent window of time there.....more than you might expect. You can expect many switches back and forth, using this technique.

or

2) You can use the Random code, and then your perpetual "hold" has an 80% chance of being on one of the 4 corner buttons, rather than the center one. It's much easier to play that hold on a corner button (less spinning around frantically.....less ground to cover).

thanks for the tips on JOIN THE PARTY, i was envisioning someone having to break dance to play it by having your hand on the hold the whole time:) I'll try your technique sometime.

I like Pump It Up Hard Mode, but when it gets to crazy, most steps, I think, lose the fun dancibility and just become a wild flailing of the limbs. Ah well.

happy gaming!

3 days and you're posting your accomplishments already? awesome man.

One of the main things to learn in Pump that'll help you jump to harder songs is getting the twisting down. Learn to twist when the patterns call for it and you'll be on a road to success! E4.gif

haha, sure thing. Crazy and above isn't really meant for dancing though, just speed. This is where twisting comes into play E13.gif Without twisting it certainly can be wild flailing of the limbs, and quite fun to watch too, hehe.

im going to get one anyway i might as well wait for them to get the support as nice for it as i can right

besides burning off more stamina is a good thing makes you stronger in the end
