|
|
With the Xbox 360 being released in just over a week, and the PlayStation 3 and Revolution releasing some time next year, I was wondering how they are going to make the switch from current-gen to next gen.
With the PS1 and PS2, they both use the same cntroller ports, so you are able to use your old dance mats, but with the 360, and PS3, the controllers are now wireless and there are no old controller ports.
I was wondering how long it will be until we start seeing PS3 and 360 DDR games (possibly Rev also). Do you think next year's US DDR mixes wil be on next-gen consoles by then, or will they wait a while? How long was the wait between 5th Mix and DDRMAX JP?
And about the dance pads, since they are incompatible, will we have to buy new pads? Do you think a third paty will make a convertor? Do you think that future mats will be wireless or use the USB ports?
Just some things to discuss... |

Not everybody will be owning a next-gen console when they get out. Expect 1, maybe 2 tops, more release(s) on current generation consoles.
The Xbox 360 has wired controllers. I don't distinctly know about the PS3. |

Ya think a current USB dance mat (computer probably) could work on the 360? They said all XBOX360 wired controllers will work on windows. Is it vice versa as in computer hardware will work on 360? If so then you can use a redoctane 3.0 on the 360 |

problem with this idea:
the 360 isn't a computer and will probably lack the hardware/drivers to support the usb pad. there may arise a hack, or some software installable on the HD that will allow this. but i highly doubt the pads will be compatable.
as for 360 controllers workin on windows(remember, microsoft loves microsoft)... thats easy considering all you'd need is drivers for it and then just plug it in. _________________

Using dance pads on new consoles won't be a problem.
All of them have USB ports, plus Revolution could use the Gamecube slots or connect the pad to the expansion slot on controller.
I'm still waiting for my TX-Gamecube control box so I can get Mario Mix (see sig, otherwise I'd have it already) _________________
