the bar looks like it will be wobbly like the TX2000. chances are this is a TX2000 clone and you should not buy it.

the first thing the style does look tx-2000 like. Don't count on that bar lasting since i have heard enough stories about ppl breaking those bars especially without the supporters (kinda thin for a bar). Also the brackets are not the same as tx-2000 since they are square brackets and not circular.

And just because they look the same doesn't mean they are as the same in terms of quality. I had two ignitions that look like the vortz ignition but lasted one day each while some ppl have vortz ignitions that lasted quite a while. U never really know until u hear feedback from ppl.

The Vortz DDR arcade metal pad, was the first DDR pad I purchased. I wanted one that would hold up under lots of use laugh.gif. I brought in on ebay from Hydragames, just before Christmas o5. It was a NEW PS2/XBOX WIRELESS IR DDR ARCADE METAL DANCE PAD.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8244369493

It arrived, as promised, just after Christmas, we got a good deal on it, but the shipping was twice the price of the pad. It worked great for about a month.E1.gif That is when the up arrow, stop working. The response from Hydragames, was fill out a RMA request, which states “All SALES are FINAL. Exchange only for defective item within 7 days of receipt.” I filled out their form, a week past, and I got no other response from them. Vortz website is not accessible; it's been under construction (Dec.-Feb. ) It was not looking very promising. I did some internet searching and found this website. One of my sons decided, if people are building their own pads, and lots of people are having trouble with their DDR pads, he would try to fix ours. He took ours apart, did some testing of the senor and re-solder the connection and it worked. E1.gif One two songs later, the down arrow on the pad crack, right down the middle and stop working.E2.gif He then replace the broken down arrow pad with the “X” senor pad that did fix the problem. Seems the Lucite down arrow panel, shifted during shipping and was not placed correctly, in its slot, and it causing it to crack. Looks a little strange having the “x” in the down arrow place, but no notices once they are playing on it. Our pad is working again.E1.gif
We just have the one pad. My son is thinking of building a 2nd pad, for us, so we can have 2 pads. The bar on this pad is the bar is wobbly, it’s a good size, 3 ¾” round tubing.
I would only buy this pad, if you have the tools and know how to fix it, when it breaks. DDR pads, breaking some time after 50 songs, seems to be a commend problem out there. This pad is not problem free.
