On November 19th, my local arcade is having its 1st DDR Tournament. On the same day however, I have a state bowling tournament my dad really wants me to go to. (He is one of the coaches) I've been waiting for a DDR Tournament ever since I started playing. If I go to DDR, I can't join bowling next year. I have to decide which one I want to do by tomorrow. Any ideas?

Well (and I don't mean this to be rude) are you good enough to stand a chance in the DDR tournament? I know even if you're not the whole experience could be fun, but you might have a more productive time bowling. If the tournament goes well at your arcade, chances are they'll host another one; but if missing out on this bowling tournament is going to effect whether or not you can play next year... it depends which is worth more to you E1.gif

Well, the manager of the arcade that it's being held at said I'm one of the best players that play there and I have a good chance of winning. Plus, there are only like 20 people signed up.

Well, I'd say the question you should be asking yourself is would you mind not being able to join bowling next year?
Also, I know you can't please everyone, but sometimes your parents should come before a DDR Tourny.
Though, in the end, it's still all your decision.

While the DDR tournament may be quite a fun experience, there will probably be another tournament, but not going to the bowling tournament would mean you couldn't play on the bowling team next year. Assuming you enjoy both activities the same amount, then the obvious choice is to go to the bowling tournament. But if bowling isn't something you particulaly enjoy (you mentioned that your dad really wants you to go bowling, but didn't say that YOU really want to) then the DDR tournament is the way to go.

If I were in this situation, I'd go bowling with my dad. The reason for this is now that I'm in college, I only get to see him once every 1 or 2 months. I can go play DDR any time I want. Cheesy as it may sound, quality time with your parents > video games.

I second the going bowling. It's miss out on one DDR tourney or miss out on bowling for a while. I'm a bowler myself, and my dad bowls too. Its fun, go for the bowling man. There will be other DDR tournaments out there. Go get some Dad time in. biggrin.gif

Bowl. forget DDR, there are plenty of small DDR tournaments you can always go to, this Bowling tournament just seems a lot more important that a typical DDR tournament.

bowling, because like psisar said, if the tourney was good, they'll probabaly host another one, and IMO if they don't host another one, the first one wasn't worth going to.

Just do the bowling thing and host your own tournament later. Is it really that hard to decide?

and yes to all the people that say that the managers "always say that'.. he is one of the best there.. I'd say it would be this ranking

Heh, too bad I don't care about the rankings.

Just go to the damn Bowling Tournament. This shouldn't be one of those questions you need to have the internet consult you on. You can play DDR anytime you want, more often that you can spend time with your parents.

This is the FIRST tourny we've had .. ever... thers never been one in 70 mile radius before.. Thats HOW IMPORTANT this tourny is to him and me.. and as for seeing his parents.. He see's them every single day its not about seeing his parents its about letting the team down.. So I think you've got that backwards

it should be

"you can see your parents anytime you want, more often than you can spent time with DDR"

I live in a Milford, DE a small down near Dover. There are DDR machines there, but I have never seen a tourney even though there probably has been one in the past since I have only been playing for about 2 years. This all depends. If you don't like to bowl much, go DDR. If you like to bowl, you lie the team, and you like your parents, go bowling. It's the right thing to do. Just think about this: In the course of a lifetime, what would matter the most?

Unless you plan on never moving out of your parents' house. There IS a future, not just the present, you know.

The real question is:
What are the prizes for each event?
