Gatorade may be packed with electrolytes, but it has 50 calories per 8 oz. serving. I remember reading somewhere that the Gatorade spokesman himself doesn't drink the stuff during exercise because of the calories.

Those of you wondering about what to drink might find this helpful.

i thought calories were kinda what you wanted before excersise....

Gatorate doesn't even taste good enough to be worth anyone's time, thanks.

Well, I suppose that depends...if you're exercising to burn calories, it seems kind of counterproductive to be taking them in as you go, eh?

Gatorade generally isn't good to drink during exercise in excess (ie. an entire 24oz bottle or however big they are), only after.

Water during, always.

well the main problem with energy drinks is that they are loaded with caffiene... so they are much more similar to coffee than gatorade, in other words, energy drinks are the exact opposite of what you want before physical activity (caffiene = big no-no), even though the "style" of energy drinks make them look like they are for sports/athletics, etc....

Hardly surprising. Indeed, Red Bull is loaded with caffeine, and a ton of other things that I've never even heard of. Taurine? What's that? I doubt it's something that will help during strenuous activity, though. Ah well, won't be drinking that stuff ever again E10.gif Just the sugar content in an energy drink is enough to keep me away from them.

there's only like under 30 grams of sugar in one can; but that's a lot considering how small the serving is.

now i'd say red bull isn't good for exercizing but good for keeping you alert and awake.

FIX'D

Anyway, the main thing you want to drink is water Atheletes Suceeded without sports drinks, and still can.

The key is not to drink TOO much wa-wa, it'll start to weigh you down and make you get cramps and such.

More food for thought...

Vitamin B12. I've been told this is a key vitamin for giving you energy. Also, with any pills you swallow of B12, your stomach will only absorb something like 0.02% of the vitamin. So get the sublingual kind. You let them melt under your tongue where you absorb much more of it. One pill is like 8000% RDA.

I wouldn't say it'll have you doing 10's in no time, but it does seem to help.

Maybe that's one of the B vitamins they stuck in aforementioned Powerade.

If there's any suggestions I have to make, it's drink a lot of water before and after you play, and don't forget to use the washroom before you play. More than once, have I had to use the washroom after the first stage at the arcade. and that's just about all I have to say. (but just make sure not to drink too much)

I have learned from experience to never eat Taco Bell (or any other fast food for that matter) directly before playing DDR goog.gif

Eat a bananna a half hour before playing...the potassium prevents muscle cramps.

As for drinks water is probably the best way to go, but it has to be room temperature. I read somewhere that cold water will chill your system and slow you down or something like that.

i usually only drink water anyways
NEVER drink milk before doing any type of exercise because it will curdle in your stomach
Always start your day with a relaxing song, or fairly easy song
UNLESS you are planning on doing real good on a max mix, i'd do it first
Always go the the bathroom before you start playing, as it reduces the amount you sweat(which can cause you to slip on the arrows if too much sweat)
Try not to stay in one spot while waiting for your turn, but don't move a lot.
Standing the entire time isn't recommended either.

Thats how i prepare
