Need some help

I'm thinking about building a bar onto my Afterburner but my dad wont let me unless the bar doesn't obstruct his vision at all. Is there a way for me to store it or make a bar that can collapse?

Try making one that has clamps that clip on to the pad so you can take it on and off.
