I've done the whole test thing, blasting DDR music in the car, and practicing on tiles in public, but I think that the worst thing so far has been my nightmare. Allow me to explain.
I was playing DDR for about 5-6 hours at a friends house for his birthday party. I had gone to bed aroun 11 ish. That night I had the most horrific nightmare. It started out like I was on the pad dancing at my friends house.
The the walls turned red and black and a vage shot up from the pads around me. My friends were standing around the pads cheering me on like they were earlier that night. The songs started pretty easy. But as I played more and more they got progressivly harder. Eventually a screen came up that said "DANCE DANCE DANCE OR WATCH AS YOUR FRIENDS DIE!!!" The next screen is the opening to max300. At the bottom of the screen it says heay double! So I start dancing as hard as I can. I'm doing better than I could ever expect myself to do at this point. I get a full combo up until the last arrow. I know that I nailed the arrow but it says "boo".
So the normal ending screen comes up to show me my results. And it say "GET READY TO DODGE" in big red letters. I stand there in confusion and suddenly I see arrows slowly coming out of the screen. Like the start of wild rush. I know that the arrows are going to speed up, so I decide to see what happens if I touch one. I reach out towards one, as soon as my finger touches the arrow I can't feel my hand and I hear one of my male friends screen. I jump around to see what happened and I see all my friends tied to the wall and an arrow slowly going through my friends right leg. I look to my hand and see that it's not there any more!
By the time I turn around the music has sped up and so have the arrows. They're coming from all directions and I can't stop it. Soon I'm missing each of my arms and my left foot. This making it extemely hard and painful to move. By the end of the song I'm left as a chunk of the man I used to be. just a stump of flesh with no limbs. I can see my friends tied to the wall. All of their limbs are missing and the only thing keeping them on the wall is a head strap. Needless to say they're all dead. Soon blood covers my eyes and I fade away to the land of never ending sleep.
Because of this dream I have become very passionate about DDR. I've been playing for about a month and am working on the B4U challenge. I can currently get a "C" rank on it. But each time I miss an arrow the image of my dead friends motivates me to get perfect after perfect no matter what. call me crazy if you wish. |

Ok, I feel like reviving an old thread. First of all, ^^Creepy dream.
Anyway, I randomly start stepping anywhere possible. People are all like "WTF are you doing?" and I'm like "Summer ~speedy mix~, ya bastards!" _________________

I spray painted half of the Afronova step pattern on one of my computer cases. I got screwed up accidentaly and I didn't feel like redoing it, so I just put the Irken Invader symbol on the side. Just remember: Never leave something you painted on the garage floor. Especially in the line of trafic... _________________

there was this one time at work i kept blinking and blinking cuz the arrows wouldn't go away! |
I've had that happen numerous times! I've even had dreams about DDR arrows.... it's kind of odd.
Like many people, I've done the tile thing in public places (which is a bit embarrasing). |

Jeezus, man. As long as that's not a premonition.
Anyway, all the time in Band Class, I'll make jokes and change the titles of songs to sound like DDR songs. Ex. Our Marching Band show was called "The Eye of Ra", and I flipped the words of that around a little to come up with stuff like "The Legend of Ra", "Ra 300", "Rathym and Police", etc.
Whoo! Nerd it up! _________________

I do the same exact thing!!!
My friends are like "What in God's name are you doing"?
And all I say is "Tsugaru, BITTCHHESSS."
And then I continue galloping. |
and i thought that was just me...
I have said that before also, on account that it is my favorite song.
I can put the stepchart in my history book. I did it this year and last year.
My playlist is half *legal* DDR stuff also.
I think that everyone with a real obsession for DDR has done the "steps on the tiles in the supermarket" and the "gallop while your friends are like wtf". My friends don't like DDR, but that's another forum.
Hasn't this been done before?? |

I tap the beat to certain DDR songs on my desk when I get bored in class...annoys the hell out of everyone but half the time I don't even realize I'm doing it.
When I was trying to memorize Let's Groove whenever I saw a tiled floor I'd be practicing the steps. A couple people saw me and looked at me like I was crazy.
The funniest thing though was when I had to demonstrate DDR in front of my math class. My teacher had seen my jacket with a soft mat arrow sewn to the back and she asked me what it meant. I tried to explain the basics of the game but eventually had to show her the different steps. (gallops, crossovers, etc.) _________________

Hmm...
I've done all the norm (tile dancing, playing DDR music in the car, etc)
I've never done that test thing, though it sounds interesting...but I have driven one of my old teachers to near insanity by using 2 pens and tapping out the Max 300 step chart.
Funny thing is by the end of the year, I heard her tap it out with a pen occasionally too. xD _________________

I make up steps to random songs I hear. It's horrible when I'm in band because whenever I'm in there during lunch Maleguena comes on (most band geeks should know what I'm talking about) and all of the sudden I'm making up random steps. I need to start making some dwi's for those.... |
