|
|
Well, I'm a little rusty on electronics, but I'm going to be grabbing a pair of rare DDR pads soon and want to add cathode lighting under the panels.
The Pads:

The Cathode Lighting:

Now, My only issue was knowing where to attach the on/off leads for the inverter that powers the lights. I don't feel like doing it wrong and sending 12v into my control box...any thought is appreciated. A schematic will get you much love. |

I wouldn't know how to hook up these lights in a DDR pad, but I would like to warn you about PC modding cold cathodes outside of a PC: Make sure they are hooked up to a regulated power source. If you don't, the lights will die. Very quickly. _________________

Wait... what?
Clarifications would be great.
You have a beatgear?
We need to know how the switchs are setup, and whether you want to have the lights always on or just when you step. You will NEVER be sending 12v into the controlbox by the way. |

12v into the control box is an example of what would happen if I did it buttocks wrong. I'll have the beatgears (using red octane c boxes) shortly. As for the other question, I'm planning on using those mods with an actual ATX power supply hidden away under the middle square of the pad so it should be fine.
What specifics of the pad circuitry do you need to know Dem? I'm going to set them up so they light when the arrow they're under is stepped on.
Thanks .
EDIT: get in touch wth me on AIM, I'll be able to clarify how this *should* work. |

Sure thing. I'll post links here if I get them running. Give me a month to get the pads and the parts here and put together. The pads dont come until the 18th and then I have to order the cathodes. I think I'm going to base the lighting off of Moore's metal pad...it looks NICE.
