|
|
Roxor Games released a patch of code for all ITG2 UPGRADE kits (NOT for the Andamiro Dedicated Cabinets) that fixes a ton of bugs in the system. The patch is installable without having to buy a new upgrade kit: It is simply downloading a file to a USB pen drive, plugging it into the machine and accessing the Update via the Operators Menu.
The list of fixes are below.
MACHINE FIXES:
- Changed volume mixing from 90% to 85% to fix clipping problems.
- Service button must be held down briefly, to prevent accidental triggering due to electrical noise.
- Debounce all input, to fix spurious input problems (fixes extra way offs, mine explosions).
- In diagnostics, show the serial number of the drive in red.
- Fixed holding left and tapping right allows changing songs after selecting chance.
- Fixed pressing left/right while holding select to change difficulty also moves the wheel.
- Improved power selection for USB devices; may improve compatibility with iPod Shuffles.
- Fixed logo splash sound ignores Attract Sound Frequency setting.
- Improved memory card backup logic to reduce chance of corruption.
- Fixed pen drive "edit" icons in double play showing edits for single play.
- Default "premium" option is "double for one credit".
- Increased music wheel time.
- Fixed mods stored on memory card cause Disqualification in Survival mode.
The two bolded fixes are things on Roxor's website that were discussed on the forums by the fans. It's nice to see them implemented. Longer menu timer = <3
Fixed step errors:
Vertex^2 (double expert)
Baby Don't You Want Me (double medium)
Bumble Bee (single beginner)
Get Happy (double medium)
Birdie Birdie (double medium)
Reactor (double medium)
Vorsprung Durch Techno (double medium)
Life of a Butterfly double medium (multiple)
Oasis (multiple)
Out of the Dark (double medium)
That's a good thing.
And the one everyone wants - Corrected sync
Delirium
Xuxa
Queen of Light
Disconnected -Hyper-
Monolith
Hardcore Symphony
Typical Tropical
Amore
Agent Blatant
Incognito
Robotix
Clockwork Genesis
Destiny
You can download the upgrade at Roxor's Page here:

Wow. That's amazing.
How exactly do we get it going, though? Should we unzip the files into the ITG2 folder, or just in the main directory of the card, or leave it zipped, or... what? _________________

no the problems aren't fixed in the dedicated cabinets. from what i read on itgfreak and roxorgames.com, the first dedicated cabinets did not have the ability to apply the patches.
as for getting it going, well, you have to have access to the operators menu. _________________

That's not what I meant... I mean how do you need to put it onto your card? Zipped or unzipped, in the ITG2 folder or the main direction, etc. _________________

My best guess would be unzipped and you don't need to put it in the In The Groove folder. _________________

Or I could do every combination and just throw it in.
That might be fun. _________________

Longer menu timer = <3 | "Alter the handling of Way Offs" was also discussed on the forums. Just about anyone who tries to full-combo 10s and above has experienced those wonderful "Way Offs" during runs or jackhammers, and/or some bizarre mine explosions. The patch should correct this issue. <3 Tiza (you KNOW!) wrote: | How exactly do we get it going, though? Should we unzip the files into the ITG2 folder, or just in the main directory of the card, or leave it zipped, or... what? | Just put it on your card, probably in the root directory, though the operator's manual is unclear. It may just search for and find appropriate files anywhere on the card. Note, however, that you need access to the operator's menu (via the service button, usually inside the coin slot) to actually install the upgrade... you can't just bring it to the arcade and have the machine read it automatically, as cool as that would be. yagsimit69 wrote: | so all of these problems are fixed in the dedicated cabinets? cause the menu timer is still really short | There are two sorts of Dedicabs, R1 and R2. R1 Dedicabs have even more bugs than this, and are also old enough that they hadn't implemented the update code yet. You can tell which version your dedicab is by looking at the results screen. If the difficulty box contains only the difficulty name (e.g. "Hard"), it's an R1 dedicab. If it shows the difficulty name and number (e.g. "7 Hard"), it's an R2 dedicab.
To fix an R1 dedicab, your arcade will need to talk to Roxor and probably get a new hard disk. R2 dedicabs have already fixed some of these issues, but some are not fixed. The patch is designed for upgrade kits, though, so it won't work on a dedicab. They're supposed to be releasing an update patch for R2 dedicabs soon. _________________

That really sucks. That bug is acutally GOOD. | How? It basically makes Chance into Random, so there's no point in Chance existing. The only way it's useful, then, is by allowing you to extend your selection time via another bug, but they've exteneded the selection time anyway, so it's all good. _________________

Well, when we have minitournaments, players usually "mutually agree" to pick a new chance song, cuz hybrid songs suck and come up way too much. |

It's considered a "bug" for a reason. Chance is called "Chance" for a reason as well. You're not supposed to be able to get around it.
It sucks, but deal with it. _________________

i inputed the patch on Rays Game Center(in La Jolla) upgraded cabinet and it worked just fine. i love how people can play doubles mode on one credit because Ray was a cheap type of guy. anyways not sure if it's a bug but if you input tokens while it's saving your progress on the USB card it won't recognize it, therefore you have no credit when it's done saving. why i'm saying this is because i usually put in tokens while it's saving and it would automatically load after. i just noticed this problem after i loaded the patch on the machine. so my way around this is DO NOT PUT IN YOUR TOKENS/QUARTERS WHILE IT'S SAVING, wait for the regular screen to come up or you won't get credit.
any thoughts people? |

No. It always recognized them, however the game would lag until the card was finished saving. Then all the credits would be inputted at one time after the saving was completed. _________________

before it would recognize the tokens while i put it in during the saving screen. ever since i input the patch though it would not recognize it. so that's what i though was odd, maybe even a possible bug. just don't want other people to lose money. |
