Quite a few Best Buy stores have the game for sale already. I picked mine up yesterday night (11/1). And yes, it freaking rocks.

I played this game at Oni-con in Houston two weeks ago. It is great. It's like Guitar Freaks++. |

Definitely. For anybody that's worried about the game being "too easy", just discard all those concerns. Some of the songs in Expert mode are positively evil.

Here's my hard-hitting question:
Will my 6-button "Game Player" Guitar work on Guitar Hero?
'Tis the question that my $100 rests on. |

I would like to pick up a new one regardless... but want to know if i can at least have 2 players, w/ one using the crappy one

Well, that's the thing, the guy at Best Buy dug it out of the warehouse in back, and it allegedly didn't have any street dating nonsense on it, so it worked out in my favor. Heh.
For those of you wondering about using a Guitar Freaks controller with the game, I seriously doubt it will work, since the Guitar Hero controller isn't compatible with GF out of the box. And that's to say nothing of the fact that you'd still be completely missing the analog whammy bar.

I had a chance to play Guitar Hero at Digital Life NYC and I can only say that it rocked! I think that the two best things about the game are the licenses and the sound effects (it actually SOUNDS like a guitar!).
The gameplay was similar to Guitar Freaks but for some reason I found this much more enjoyable. Can't wait to pick up my copy... _________________

Man, I'm gonna have to buy this just for the music. Any word on a soundtrack CD, like there was for ITG? _________________

Why does every screenshot I see make me feel this game was designed for PS1 and not PS2 ? |

it looks all fine and good (and ill probably buy it regardless), but the notes look like they come down like "oncoming" arrows on stepmania... Can you change that? _________________

Because you can't play screenshots. Videos are better, and playing the game live is better than that.
Besides, when the game gets hard (fun), you won't see anything else on the screen except for the notes. _________________

having played for a bit now my only complaint is a lack of any kind of special signal on the song screan to show that you had a full combo on a song _________________
