Everybody hates DDR!!!!!!

OK. So today my friend' like, "dude why dont you start skating again. You were good at it. I think it's better than DDR." (He has said this before). Then I was like, "Well I dont care what u think. I love DDR".

Well my point is this really pisses me off. ALL of my friends and brothers,besides a few of my friends at school who love the game also, HATE how i always play the game and love it so much. They also HATE my "cheesy techno crap" music which i learned to love because of ddr. Some of them ALWAYS make fun of me for it too. Im gettin really angry now. And i dont know if i told someone i didnt really know that i love ddr if they would think im stupid or not. So tell me if u deal with this and tell me what i should do...and dont say "just ignore them" cause it's getting hard!!

I get that sometimes. A lot of people say it is easy and they have never actually played it before. That's what makes me mad. They don't actually know how hard the game can get. I agree "ignoring" them can get kind of hard so what I would suggest is to change the subject everytime it comes up in a conversation or, and this is my personal favorite, find something about them to make fun of. I, for example, make fun of them because they are f-f-f-football players and they are dumb as HELL. This is just a suggestion and I hope those people will get out of your "kool-aid".

man, im in the same boat you are. i used to skate like a ton. now i bearly do because of ddr and my freinds make fun of it and everything. if they say its easy and gay just be like lets see you do it and acctualy make them and the reason most people hate the game is because they suck at it. or like what was said a right above me just change the topic or make fun of them for somthing they do. or maybe just go skating with them somtimes. i still do both but ddr and itg is just a bigger part of my life

Yeah, I've been where your at. The best you thing you should do is ignore what they say about ddr or techno. I was in the same situation not too long ago about my ddr and techno obsession, where some of my friends would tease me about it. I ignored what they said and eventually they got bored of doing it. Also I'd recommend finding some more friends that share those interests. That way it won't be so tough on you.

those who dont like jocks i lift weights and do a coupe sports (no point but some times things need to be said)

and..umm i started to hangout with the ddr players at my local arcade and can u believe it they all go to diffrent schools and one of them lives 103 miles away. find friends that respect your choices and dont make excuses. as long as you stick to what you enjoy and dont sway to the opinion of others no one can think of you as any lower.


of coarse all of my football friends can play standard also

That happens to me quite often. Kids look at me like I'm an alien because I listen to DDR music CDs in art class, and then when I ask if they know what it is, they say that DDR is either:

1. A stupid video game version of Footsies

2. DDR is complicated because they don't understand it (of course, I say... uh, just follow the arrows and hit the pad when the arrow gets to the top of the screen [this usually requires me to do an example])

3. DDR is stupid. There's no point to it

or

4. DDR is easy. Why should they play something that makes you move your feet to arrows?

Just ignore them. Or, if you're at an arcade, challenge them. It's always funny to seem them land flat on their face.

My only friend who hates DDR is really pysically active and plays lots of sports. He is probably just jelous that I, weighing almost 250, can beat him at something physical, so whenever he says that DDR is stupid i say that it must be stupid if a fat guy can beat you in it.

I love DDR music, lots of DDR people do, i have like 100 DDR songs on my Ipod (remixes and stuff) and listen to it 24-7.... the only problem was the other day i was playing Sakura on my iPod, and started doing the steps in the middle of the street O_o

Wow, it's completly different for me. I mentioned DDR to my friend years ago, and she started to play it. So, then we discovered two of our mutual friend had the first DDR game for PS2! So, all four of us were playing it. Then, some of their friends had already been playing it for a while. So, yeah. Everyone I knows either plays it, or likes to watch it 'cause it entertains them, and they wish they knew how to play it.

It seems to me like the best thing to do would be to stay away from the issue entirely. Don't bring up the game with them on your own, and if they bring it up, change the subject as quickly as possible. No need to make a big deal about it; if it's something you enjoy doing and intend to keep doing, they have no good reason to judge you for it. If they make fun of you, don't give them any possible indication that it bothers you; on some level, that may be interpreted as a signal that if they keep making fun of you, you might get fed up and quit. Be indifferent.

All the people who have ever told me they hate DDR and/or its gay are those who dont think for themselves and say it just because your different or they are too fat to do it.
Either way you are guaranteed to kick their arse. And yes they are big jerks.
