We've all heard of those DDR whizzes that can make the Standard and Heavy modes look easy...but when you try and do something like that on StepMania, chances are you get your fingers tied up in knots.
Using StepMania's editor, I've figured out how to make the Standard and Heavy modes playable for the not so agile fingered player:
1. Open StepMania
2. Enter the editor
3. Pick the song you want to use as your guinea pig
4. Turn the top bar blue to highlight the eighth notes (Left/Right arrows)
5. Go through and delete any eighth notes
6. Turn the top bar red again
7. Go through and modify awkward jumps to single steps (i.e. Left/Down can be modified to a Left or a Down)
8. Double check to be sure you didn't miss anything
9. Save the result _________________

a) what exactly is the point of this? Just play light if your not ready for standard or heavy
b) dont edit your simfiles if you really want to do this, just turn on little mode in the options screen |

You do realize that most of the people here, a LARGE majority, all play heavy mode correct?

I have to join in wondering what exactly the point of this is. You're not going to improve in Stepmania by deleting all the eighth notes and awkward jumps from a song. I've never heard of anyone "tying their fingers in knots" trying to play Standard and Heavy mode on sims, either. o_O |

9. Save the result | There is no point in doing this you can just turn little on and turn simultaneous steps off in the options menu. Someone lock this. |
