I recently just started playing SM on the pad (I played on the keyboard for about a year) and the only equipment I had acess to or enough money for was the (crappy) RadioShack adapter and a cheap (10$) Mad Catz Soft Pad. Now I know the RS adapter has the axis problem which i temporarily remedied by simply using X, [], ^ and O instead of the arrows but as any DDR fan would know these buttons are significantly farther apart than the arrows, so my question is if someone could walk me through how I can mod my softpad so that the arrow buttons register as X, O, [] and ^. Thanks.
oh, and all hat webwarper nonsense at the end is cuz I posted that message at school where I have to use WW to view pages that are blocked on the school computers. _________________

Comments: Maps the PlayStation directional pad to USB HID axes on the PC. Joystick Axes Problem
This is fro mthe StepMania website. I'd say get a new adapter. The "Super dual box" is all over ebay. They're cheaply made, but mine is about 2 years old and still going. They don't map to the axis liek the radio shack one. Here's the stepmania converter page:
