Vertex, Not Worth the Paper, Dreams of Passion, !, Vertex^2 and Energizer as favorites?

Do you really enjoy beepy songs and songs with no melody? >_> I can't stand listening to those personally.

One of my favorites would have to be Fleadh Uncut. Mm.

Yes. happy.gif I'm listening to "Get Your Snack on" by Amon Tobin right now. It's awesome!

Let me explain my favorites a little bit.

Vertex is very unique for a hard song because it isn't BOOM BOOM BANG BANG. It's very fast, yet quiet.

Not Worth the Paper. I personally don't understand why most of people don't like the Dax songs on ITG. When was the last time we had a heavy metal song in a dancing game?

Dreams of Passion does a lot of genre blending. I need to get a candle to swing around during that song or something because it's so peaceful.

! is also very unique (the song's in 7/4 time instead of the usual 4/4) and it has a lot of things going on in it.

Vertex^2 was actually disappointing the first time I heard it, but that was on a simfile where the song was at lower volume. I call it a guilty pleasure. It just needs easier steps, but I already did so in Stepmania.

Energizer is just beautiful. It just needs to get rid of that piano solo in the middle because it does not fit in with the rest of the song. Other than that I have no problems with it.

I also want to add The Beginning as a ITG favorite. GOA TRANCE!!

Personally, I enjoy beepy songs with no melody, if they're done well. PARANOiA Survivor is one of my favorite songs ever. My favorite ITG song, though, is probably Zodiac or Energizer.

the only problem with your arguement is that paranoia survivor actually has a melody...

This is my new least favorite.

Not cause it's whored, I just don't enjoy the song, or the steps.

da-dah....... dahhh, dah da-dah.......

Oh yeah, so much of a melody there. It's two notes, a half-step apart. That's less of a melody than in MAX 300 or Energizer. That synth is pretty much just being used percussively, to accent certain beats. There's also a background pad that, gasp, plays notes. But again, it's not a melody. It's just a kind of ambient tonal sound. The entire focus of the song is the feel of all of those sounds coming together in one big showdown of beats.

...all I'm saying is that there is NO melody in PARANOiA Survivor. Two notes does not a melody make. Same goes for VerTex^2. However, both VerTex^2 and PARANOiA Survivor are far from random.

p.s. I think VerTex^2 is an awesome song, thank you very much. It's just not as awesome as Energizer, which is in turn not as awesome as PARANOiA Survivor. However, they're still all better than Delirium or The Message. goog.gif
