Everyone keeps telling me that it is from "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
I have never ever heard this tune in the movie at all. I don't own the game, but I have the song. Does anyone know what the song is really a remake of?

It is a remix of a classical piece called "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg and was composed for Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt.

There you go.

yup. grieg is one of my favorite composers. the piece "morning", probably best known for its use in looney toons cartoons that have a morning scene in them, is another great one from peer gynt.

Just so that no one asks it now, End of the Century is a remake of Beethoven's Ode to Joy, Kakumei is a remake of Chopin's Etude in C minor, V is a remake of Antonio Vivaldi's WInter movement of the Four Seaons, and Speed Over Beethoven is an absolutely terrible attempt at Fur Elise, which is also Beethoven.

There's probably more classic remakes, but I can't think of any right now.

I think the splicing of the classical stuff and techno in DDR has always been a good aspect of it. I love those songs! biggrin.gif

Took me a while to remember what Dream A Dream was remixing, and then I also remembered that they used the song for the old Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. laugh.gif
