|
|
I searched around a little bit and couldn't really find where I can purchase the controller's for Guitar Freaks and Drummania, I found the guitar but whenever I did it was out of stock or discontinued.
Anybody know a site where I can purchase a new one? or maybe fan sites (like DDRFreak) for Drummania? _________________

I just recently downloaded DrumMania and also find it difficult to play the game with a keyboard. I don't want to bump on someone elses thread, but didn't think it was necessary to make 2 threads.
I was wondering if anyone had tried to use a DrumMania controller on a PC. I would like to play it on PC, because I don't have a PS2. Any help would be appreciated. THX |

Umm, the only drummania program I have seen for PC is... well its okay, but I would seriously just buy the real game for PS2, especially with GF/DM V coming out. At the moment if you want to do this on the cheap, buy a topway DM controller from lik-sang and then get DM4th & GF3rd from someone (I can get it for you if you like, pretty cheap too) as this is the latest PS2 release. Though you will have to have a Jap PS2 or modified PS2. |

Wow the Topway DM controller is only $39, amazing. I have a JP PS2, bought especially for DDR Extreme JP since IMHO the US released blew. Should I wait for DM V/GF V to release or should I grab an earlier mix?
Flazh, can you get me a copy of DM4th? and how much? I'm interested greatly in DM now that I realized how cheap the Topway controller is. When I tried to get into Beatmania, the arcade style IIDX controller was like $300, I'm like...eh no.
[EDIT]: Ebay: Few Products, and ridiculously expensive/overpriced
Lik-Sang: 4 Soundtracks, and thats it.
Play Asia: 2 Mix's out of Print, DM/GF V TBA, and soundtracks.
Anyone know where I can buy new ones? [/EDIT] _________________

By the way from what I hear, topway controllers are horrible. Mainly I've heard the construction of the footpedal is garbage. I've heard many cases of people using the footpedal only to have it break apart on them... You don't want to have to pay $150-200 for the Konami version either, because I've heard that one isn't so great either...
From what I've researched, this BAFO set is the best bang for your buck:

Hard to find nowadays, hence the higher price. But $168 isn't bad compared to the $700 or so you'd be investing in a Yamaha DTX setup (probably the closest drumset to the arcade version).
As Flazh said, buy the official version, if not only to help support Konami in releasing more GF/DM titles... Guitar Freaks/Drummania V will be released next quarter, just have patience. If you don't have patience, the best you can do is find a used copy of old GF/DM games for PS1/2. As mentioned before, you need a modded PS2 or a Japanese PS2 to play them.
I personally shelled out the money for a used Konami Guitar Freaks controller. Worth it? Honestly, it's a lot lighter/smaller than I expected. Sometimes the wailing "button" doesn't respond either, but that's just on the GF sim I've been using. I personally couldn't stand the sim for GF, so I bought GF3/DM2 for PS2. Still waiting on my Japanese PS2 though...
Oh and Flazh I'd also be interested in getting a copy of GF4/DM3 from you if possible. Prices online for used copies are outrageous. |

I ran into this problem where I could not find a decent
Drummania set that actually felt anything like the arcade.
So what else can you do, but to build your own..
So here is my FAQ on my web site on how to build your own
Drummania set.

I hope this helps. _________________
