How's the feel on it? From what I see, it looks like it'll be hard to know where you stand on the board since it's totally flat. Would this be a better choice over the regular metal BNS pad and is it more sensitive?

there is already a thread on this pad, but i guess it hasn't been bumped in a while: http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=109105

i've been meaning to do a quick small review on it but i've been mad busy with school. I need to do it within these next 2 weekends or something.

all in all, another guy on this board has it and loves it. I just got it not too long ago and it is in fact a very good pad, i too have love for it, haha.

In response to your questions
feet on board: not a big deal, yes was a bit weird first time but really response is nice and my feet hardly have even missed the arrows latley. I never had the old BNS metal pad, so i can't speak on how its better or worse. i know the fusion and the fusion is VERY solid, i don't see it breaking any time soon. The arrows can't crack either, cause they're not made of plastic, they are part of the metal surface. Responsiveness seems good to me, however i'm probobly a heavier class than most DDR players. (i eat too mucha nd drink too much beer), but i still think it hits perfect.

it honestly is a solid responsive metal pad. i see it lasting a good while. and the price was realy nice compared to other metal pads. again, i'll seriously TRY to write asuper duper quicky review within the next couple weeks. haha. sorry for laggin it all.

If someone who plays on xbox would try this pad out, I'd like to know how it works on xbox. We aren't really allowed to make a thread asking for pads that work well on xbox, but there are lots of pads that are supposed to have a connector that works with both ps2 and xbox, and most of them don't actually work well with xbox.
Pads like the RO ignition and afterburner, and the BNS DX ignition have advertised xbox compatibility, but have a history of having problems particularly on xbox.

Most of the time, people don't clarify which console they play on, which can be confusing to others. I've already PM'd the two members that have posted about their own fusions, and they play on the playstation.

I posted to Koofu in another thread about the xbox compatability. Right now price and xbox compatability are the things keeping me from getting a CF. I need to buy 2 for me an my wife, and the CF is just going to be too much, especially with the Xbox 360 around the corner!!! =)

The price is right on this one, but I wonder if any of the new TX's are any good. I would like a more arcade like experience, but I play in the arcade so rarely that I don't think it's worth going out of my way to find a pad that is more arcade like and is going to cost me 2x to 3x more.

Anywho, let's liven this thread up, that Koofu guy sure likes his, I want to hear from some other folk.

the only thing about the pad is there is no arrow panels, which will have to take getting used to. Once your a natural dancing on it, you can actually move your feet faster instead of lifting the foot higher to avoid the bumps on the side of the panels. smoothe dancin for me.

How about xbox compatability?

I need 2 (me and my wife) and if I can get 2 of these for the price of one flux, WOO HOO!!!

We don't care too much about the arcade experience, we are doing this for exercise, not a show, so the smooth surface, while it may take some getting used too, isn't going to be a deal breaker. She doesn't play much so she usually only does lights, I am barely into standards but hope to do heavy's some day.

mine looks like it would work with an Xbox, it came with a black control box and both PS and Xbox cables splitting out of it. but i'm yet to test it. got a friend with an xbox but he doesn't play DDR so he doesn't own ultramix or anything. meh, too lazy to rent ultramix (if blockbuster even has it) too damn busy with school. i may give it a try after october, when my weekends area bit more free.

anyone actually try a fusion with an Xbox?

Someone already posted a new thread on this -

http://www.buynshop.com/productinfo/44/VG-FUSiR-01/

Is this the Fusion R you mentioned Koofu? Wireless scares me, just not reliable enough. If there is an R version (as opposed to iR) that is a wired version, that might be cool. But they don't mention what the panels are made of, I think the regular Fusion would still be the way to go.

Why is one iR a buck more than one fusion, but 2 ir's are 9 bucks less then 2 fusions?

yea. i just saw the new IR thread and the new release. looks cool. but yea i love my new fusion, and can't afford to spend money just to get the wireless feature. the onyl differances seem to be
1) wireless feature (pretty convenient)
2) differant surfaces

so given if the infared is pretty stable and there are no lag issues it would be an issue of preferance. i like the surface, weight and looks of my regular Fusion pad, so i have no reason to switch it up. but the wireless feature looks pretty attractive i must say.

maybe someone can buy the IR pad and give us some insight, but so far all metal FUSION, if you don't care about wireless feature, is an excellent pad.

Theres no such this as lag free infared.
Thats the problem with wireless pads, it happens with the cheap softpads just the same.

or maybe they lag because they are "cheap softpads" the design of the wireless IR will inherantly be cheap.

i sure hope someone gives the damn thing a try and lets us know if its a bold claim or not. it looks good and the all metal fusion i have works fine, so if it lives up to the fusion name i hope its good; i'd just like to know for sure though.

anywho, this thread is about the all metal fusion not the Fusion IR.

here is the iR thread if anyone is interested:

i'd love to learn more about the fusion pad. seeing how it's simply one flat surface i'd assume it's way more durable than a metal pad with actual buttons. even though this may be the case i was curious if it was still possible to do the sheet metal mod on it. or is it even necessary?

I just bought one last night (not the iR the fusion metal), so I'll be sure to come by this thread and throw in my 2 cents. I play about average for people on this board so I may be a good point by which to get a good impression (8-9s).

I ordered mine last week on Monday and received it on Thursday. Talk about fast shipping... I received the tracking notifcation after receiving the box E1.gif. Also mine didn't come with an xbox adapter... no biggie since I don't have an xbox but it said it came with one.

I"m coming from the levelsix deluxe 3.1 ignition-type pad, and I"m still trying to get used to the lack of raised buttons. So far it seems okay, but for songs that are freeze heavy I'm having problems I guess since I'm not pressing down on it hard enough. I've never used another metal pad, other than arcade, so I can't really compare with others but it is kinda annoying. I'm going to have to get a pair of clean sneakers, playing with/without socks is a little hard on the feet.

that doesn't seem right though. the website says that it comes with PS/PS2 AND xbox control boxes. are you sure you took everything out of the packaging? it's pretty pointless for me to buy it if it doesn't come with an xbox control box.

mine came with both.
i'm sure if you call you can get the propper control box. but it won't really matter for starbuck considering you don't have an Xbox. seriously though, mine came with one (i don't have xbox so i don't need) and if someone really wanted it you should hit them up if its the incorrect box.

my 2 cents. yea i had a bit of weirdness at first too with the metal surface. but i adjusted quiet nicely to the surface within less than a week (coordination thing i guess) and now the pad seems perfectly fine. solid pad, solid arrows, good response, ps2/xbox compatible. no complaits other that the slight akwardness of the surface at first.
