Hey, my name is Mark, and I live in Newfoundland Canada. I am turning 13 very VERY shortly and I was wondering if any of you think I'm any good. I only started playing in January, and I bought DDRMAX2 at the start of summer, at about light-standard. I now do hard heavy and I've already passed a few 10-footers (Maxx Unlimited, Max 300). The lowest high score I have on any nine-footer in MAX and MAX2 is a B. So...I would want you guys to tell me if you think I'm any good.
P.S.- what you read is what you get- this is not one big lie. If it was, I would say I passed a 10-footer with a AAA first try. |

I would advise you to never seek the praise of others on DDR Freak. The key question is "home or arcade?" _________________

Whether or not you're "good" shouldn't be based on the opinions from anonymous strangers on the internet. and what being "good" at DDR means is something that can't be rightfully answered. _________________

Synaesthesia, I made those high scores at home, but i do play at the arcade. The pads there aren't the greatest though...very occasiona; failures. Or maybe it's just me, I don't know. And Solar-wind, you have a point too- good in DDR may never be an official definition. I just like getting opinions :D |

Thing is, that people will mostly see that kind of post as "compliment-begging", even though you might just want to figure out where you stand versus the mass. In other words, that can be considered as unintentional flamebait.
But it's a good thing that you can reply in a "professional" manner to such replies, nevertheless. Some other newbies would have thrown a fit if they would have got those replies.
Good luck! _________________

My bro beat LOM and A'd Maxx / A'd Max 300 etc. etc. when he was 12 so you got catching up to do! He also passed World Tour and some other Onis.
He turned 13 recently and he beat every single song in ITG 2 already. |

I've seen a tiny 11 year old pass 12's on ITG. Don't go fishing for compliments here, or you're just going to get flamed. Chances are, there are very many people who are both better than you and worse than you. Get used to it.
The timing window difference between home and arcade is very large. |
