i guess not everyone reads the 28 pages (i barely made it)....

this pad is not made well. the buttons crack/ snap

the buttons stop working after anything from when u take it from the box to about a month after your warentee ends.

no lag that i have heard of

they appear to work perfectly until they just stop working all together.

they have sharp corners...and i wear socks E2.gif

so in the end this pad has hope if they come out w/ a version 2 but until then please avoid this pad

I've had my Afterburner for a while now. Works great. I recently downloaded Stepmania, and remembered that this pad is supposed to work with the PC. I have the USB cord, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to connect the pad to the PC! The opposite end of the USB cable is a roundish thingy.

if it is roundish on one end and flat on the other then that is firewire and you need a fire wire port for it to work.

Ah nevermind, I figured it out. It's definitely not Firewire. Turns out a piece comes off that I didn't see, and now it connects to my PC. Too bad it disconnects so often. Did manage to AA Sakura and Outer Limits before the disconnects became too much of a problem.

The sheet metal mad is a remedy to the crappy copper conducters. It's not going to help cracked arrows or dead pads :P

to tell u the truth youy would need to rebuild the pad. use the basic fram but repair, fix up, replace the internals and replace the lexan w/ better matterial. over all u are better off building a new one unless u really want to do a full blown overhaul on the pad (Pricy much)

Are you saying that Afterburner does not work on PC , stepmania?

oh la la......

I thought RO AfterBuner suppose to work on PC/ XBOX/ PS2.

I think you just need to buy a control box that is compatible with PC/ XBOX/ PS2.

It comes with a control box, but the more recent ones have been prone to not work.

I must say, red octane's doing a really poor job on the quality of their pads
I was expecting the Afterburner to be redemption from their earlier failures such as my Ignition 2.0 that didnt work wit xbox... frust.gif

Oh yeah sorry about not posting the updates. I got another e-mail about 2 days later saying I will get it soon and surely enough it will be here soon. The only problem is I live on the other side of the country and takes a while. From the sound of it Redoctane knows that there are problems (said so in a early message) and will perfect everything soon enough.

For those of you thinking about getting one it's very hard to come here and decide that because it's like asking if you should get ITG or not. There are going to be people who hate it without trying it or just be against it. The same goes for DDR. If you get one and something goes wrong you have a 90-day warranty, not 30 or 60. Happy shopping E1.gif

call them, and make sure they know about it, there may be a problem and thats why its in the sorting facility, at my job dhl does that, a package we send out nextday priority wont get to where its going, and wen i track it, it says its in the sorting facility, i call them and they are like, oh, where is tihs address we dont know where its supposed to go or whatever, so just give em a call to make sure.

Everytime I used DHL, the package is at the sorting facility for like a week, then BAM!, it instantly appears at my door. Their tracking (at least from R.O.) does not seem to update after the initial pickup like UPS or FEDEX. By the way, my Afterburner has been at the sorting facility since 9/15 with an estimated delivery date of 9/20. Hopefull i will see it before EX2 next week!

Okay, Honistly, I have played on a AB, Flux, BNS fusion, RO V2 pad, TX2000 And I would rank them like this

Flux
BNS Fusion
RO V2
AB
Tx1000-2000

The flux dosnt feal arcade, but it is very VERY Strong. (people alwase saything BUT) You can run a freaking car over it! happy.gif

BNS Fusion -dosnt feal as durrable but its very responsive, and plus, its freakin beauitful!, It takes ahile getting used to playing on something that has no buttons to feal. but its the 2nd best. And if urr a ITG player, your in luck, there is NO WAY to jam your finger while doing Bend your mind laugh.gif

RO V2 Pad. - I currently have this at my house... and frankly, I love it. Ive passed Determanator (ITG2) on it fine, Only once after you do the Sheet metal to the arrow panal mod

AB. I was very disapointed with this pad... Not worth the price, and its just
Afterburner just dosnt feal like the arcade, the buttons feal as if they could snap at anytime, (which i heard do disgust.gif ) and the ressesd buttons just feel cheep. And I have had a nasty experence with Bend your mind on this one... ::shudders::

TX2000... needless to say... avoid it...

EDIT
There is hope... Hope for a arcade pad
Is this the Blue shark?

Notice the CRTL box on the front and the Start select on the back
It just might be....

Dude where are you getting this from?

Anyway my pad is in Ohio now and I can't wait to get it and practice ITG until EX2 comes out. I think it works perfectly fine, the only other thing I would prefer is the konami metal pad.
